What is the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme?

In 1969, the Sitaram Jindal Foundation established a scholarship programme for students from the economically disadvantaged group. This scholarship’s goal is to improve the academic performance of underprivileged kids. Every year, scholarships in the amount of Rs. 9,000 to Rs.14,000 are given to meritorious students.

The best thing about this scholarship is that students who are physically challenged and who are female are given utmost priority. Furthermore, the scholarship amount granted varies from Rs. 700 to Rs. 4000 based on the academic course and the time required.

Who Qualifies for the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme?

The following requirements must be met by students who wish to apply for the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme:

  • Candidates should be enrolled in classes at the 11th, 12th, ITI, diploma, collegiate, or graduate level.
  • Candidates must comply with the requirements for percentage marks in their previous class.
  • If you are employed, your family’s annual income cannot exceed INR 4 lakh. Other students must have a household income of no more than INR 2.5 lakh per year.
  • The applicants’ ages must not be older than 30.

Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme Amount

The amount provided for the Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme differs on the basis of levels. Here is the following information:

  • Students in grades 11th and 12th will receive INR 500 each month.
  • ITI diploma students will be awarded INR 500 (for government-sponsored or -aided ITIs) and INR 700 (for private ITIs) per month (for private ITIs).
  • Students taking graduate-level studies may receive up to INR 1,000 monthly.
  • Students enrolled in postgraduate courses may receive up to INR 1.200 per month.
  • Students enrolled in diploma programmes will receive INR 1,000 per month (for girls) and INR 800 per month (for boys).
  • Students taking medical or engineering courses may receive up to INR 2,000 per month.

What Selection Procedure would be followed under the Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme?

The Jindal Scholarship falls under the category of a year-round scholarship, so applications are accepted all year round. Qualified applicants may submit an application for the scholarship. However, applicants must only submit one scholarship application. It is a merit-based plus financial need scholarship programme. And the scholarships will be offered to candidates based on the categories for which they qualify.

Both online, as well as offline applications, are accepted for the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme. For the offline mode, candidates must download the application form, fill it out carefully and then send it in person with documents. Step 2: Choose the form and fill in the details. Make sure to carefully provide genuine information both personal and qualification. Also carefully read the guidelines. In addition, provide a genuine number and email as you may receive a password and an application ID.
Step 3: Now log in and fill out the form carefully along with submitting scanned copies of the required paperwork.
Step 4: Once you fill in all the details, go through your form again to avoid mistakes and then submit. Also, download the form for evidence purposes.

Note – Remember that candidates will receive scholarships based on their applications and supporting documents. The scholarship will be revoked if any information is discovered to be inaccurate.

What Documents are Required for the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme?

  • A copy of the scorecard from SSLC/HSC 
  • A copy of the most recent test

Terms and Conditions of the Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme

Here are a few terms and conditions that every candidate must keep in mind when applying for Sitaram Jindal Foundation Scholarship Scheme:

  • The eligible percentage of marks for physically challenged or handicapped pupils shall be passed grades in all categories.
  • The minimum percentage of marks required for continuation will be 5% lower at the time of continuation (repeat) of scholarship in all categories.
  • The Foundation will only accept application forms that may be downloaded for free from its website.
  • All government-run and government-aided schools, colleges, and institutes as well as those private schools, colleges, and institutions where pupils are not required to pay unreasonable fees would be eligible for the scholarships.
  • Applications from students in their last year will not be considered for courses lasting three years or more.
  • The scholarship won’t be awarded for shorter-than-a-year courses.
  • When the student reaches the age of 30, the scholarship will end.
  • Separately printed application forms (from printing presses) won’t be accepted.
  • They have a strict system of screening and verifying, by which some people have been caught and penalized in the past. So candidates must make sure the information and papers provided are 100% authentic and accurate.
  • During the course of the course, a student should only submit one scholarship application.
