Overview

The Assam Royal Global University is a private state university which is situated in the city of Guwahati, Assam, and was established in 2013 by the Royal Group of Institutions. The university was later approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers more than 130 courses in diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D in various specializations such as engineering, business, commerce, law, social work, liberal arts, pharmacy, science, environmental science, aviation and flying, humanities, hotel management, tourism, mass communications, nursing, life science, design, and many more.

The university has over 250 faculty members who have a lot of experience in teaching and most have doctoral degrees from the top universities in India and abroad. The students get assistance with the subjects and gain theoretical and practical knowledge during their academic sessions. The university offers upto 100% scholarships for meritorious students who have exceptional academic records. Students from the minor community, students from the reserve category, and students from the weaker financial section can avail different scholarship schemes at the university.

The university has various collaborations with national and international organizations in both academic and industrial fields. The academic collaborations help the university to adopt the global academic pattern, which helps students to perform at a global level. The industrial collaboration helps the university prepare the students for the campus placement drive, which is regularly happening at the university and offers students the opportunity to start their career just after the academic sessions. The campus of the university has a huge area of 27 acres that offers all the facilities that are needed for the smooth functioning of an educational firm. The Assam Royal Global University is ranked 150th in all India and the 4th state university of Assam by the IIRF University Rankings 2023, among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers various courses at different schools in several specializations. Some of them are mentioned below.

• Royal School of Engineering and Technology offers courses like B.Tech and M.Tech in various specializations such as computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering.
• Royal School of Business offers courses like BBA and MBA in various specializations such as banking, finance, international business, family business, logistics and supply chain management, and many more.
• Royal School of Commerce offers courses like B.Com and M.Com in various specializations such as accounting, marketing, finance, and many more.
• Royal School of Liberal Arts offers courses like BA and MA in various specializations such as political science, education, history, international affairs, and many more.
• Royal School of Medical and Allied Sciences offers courses like B.Sc, BPT, MA, M.Sc, and MPT in various specializations such as hospital administration, physiotherapy, yoga therapy, optometry, and many more.
• The university offers Ph.D in various specializations such as engineering, management, physics, chemistry, mathematics, economics, history, law, environmental science, sociology, and many more.

Admission Process

The candidates have to follow the given procedure to get admission to the university.

• The students need to get the application form from the university office or can download it from the official website of the university.
• The students have to fill in the application form completely with the required details and choose the course they want to get admission to.
• The candidates have to attach all the necessary documents like marksheets and certificates of the previous academic records and other necessary documents like photographs, domicile certificates, many more.
• The candidates have to add a DD (Demand Draft) of Rs. 1000 in the name of the university with the application form.
• The application form should be submitted at the office by hand or through postal services.
• The candidates have to appear in the entrance examinations required by their desired courses.
• The students with the cutoff marks are called for counseling where they have to go through group discussions, personal interviews, and document verification.
• The students are admitted to the university to pay an admission fee within a given time to confirm their seats in the desired course.

Results and Cut off

The students are given admission to the university on the basis of their previous academic records and the marks scored in the entrance examinations organized by the university and other national testing agencies along with their personal interviews.

The university conducts entrance examinations for approximately all the courses and  also prefers some national level entrance examinations like JEE Mains, CEE, RJEE, and GATE for admission to the engineering courses. The university prefers UGC NET/JRF, CSIR, and other entrance examinations for admission to a doctoral program.

The eligibility criteria are different but necessary for the various courses offered at the university. The students need to pass the 10+2 or an equivalent level of examination from a recognized board of education with at least 50% marks, and a relaxation of 5% marks is given to the reserve category students to get admitted to an undergraduate course. The students need to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university in India or abroad with at least 50% marks to get admission to a master’s degree program and 45% marks in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC NCL. For the doctoral programs, students need to have a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 55% marks.

Placement

The university has a training and placement cell which is responsible for all the placement related activities. The students are trained and prepared to face the interview through various personality development classes and industrial experience. The university has several collaborations with industry that help students with some live training programs, industrial visits, and internship programs. The industrial tie ups help the university to organize various campus placement drives for the students. The university has over 250 recruiters, and the major recruiters of the university are Vishal Mega Mart, IndusInd Bank, Amul, Just Dial, Kotak Life Insurance, Karvy Stock Broking, Antraweb Technologies, Genpact, and many more.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in the beautiful location of Guwahati, Assam and spread over an area of 27 acres. The campus has a lot of greenery and a peaceful environment that helps students complete their academic sessions. The campus has facilities like hostels, cafeteria, library, labs, sports grounds, auditorium, seminar halls, transportation, bank, ATM, conference halls, and many more.

The campus has an auditorium, sports grounds, and a gym that host many extracurricular activities like cultural programs, tech events, sports events, and many more. The gym is used by the students for intense workouts and to be physically fit and mentally active. 

The library at the university is fully air conditioned and offers a perfect place for students to study. The library contains over 20,000 academic books, research papers, journals, and other books. The students can borrow the books from the library for their academic period. There are more than 85 labs at the university that have all the necessary equipment and resources that are required to complete the practical's.

The university offers hostel facilities for both boys and girls. A mess is attached to the hostel that provides better quality food to the students and staff. The students have the facilities of a reading room, a common room with a TV set, indoor games, and internet facilities at the campus. The university offers medical facilities in case of an emergency on campus.
