Overview

The Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF) was founded in the year 1994 by a renowned industrialist and philanthropist Dr Karsanbhai K Patel. Under NERF, the proposal for the establishment of Nirma University was put forward. Nirma University was then established in 2003 with approval from the Government of Gujarat. The university was set up with a vision to promote higher education and provide excellent educational facilities to the youth in India.

Nirma University, Ahmedabad has been designated a Center of Excellence by the Gujarat government. In this way, the university had the autonomy to set up its admission committee and to decide its fee structure. The university is recognized by UGC and has been accredited by NAAC with grade 'A' along with a triple-crown accreditation, the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Besides, over the years of its functioning, the university has received several notable awards and accolades. With the passing years, the list of awards and rankings received by the university is constantly increasing in counts.

Admission Process 

Most people dream of becoming a student at Nirma university. A student's dream can become a reality if the student keeps track of all the admissions dates. Admission begins with the completion of an application form, followed by the conduct of the specified entrance exams.

On selection in the exam, the student is called for a personal interview following which the candidate is offered a seat in the desired course.  

Results and Cut off 

To secure a seat under any course offered by the university, it is necessary for the students to be eligible for admission. The admission eligibility of the candidate is judged based on whether the HSC score is a minimum of 60% or not. Besides, the HSC exam must be qualified from a recognized board. Following the eligibility fulfillment, the candidate is needed to fill the application form and clear the required entrance exam. 

Placement 

The university provides industrial training programs from time to time. The training program includes industrial visits and short workshops lasting two or three days. University projects include training and expanding the academy's reach to the industry in addition to its training programmes. Additionally, the university welcomes industry sponsors to sponsor classroom projects, summer projects, internships, and graduation projects. Students who receive these kinds of training can become industry-ready and develop the right thinking skills. A variety of opportunities are provided to the best brains at the institute by all the companies that visit the campus each year.

The alumni association works with college administration to provide current students with real industry knowledge and prepare them for the future. They host annual events and talks where they help current students better understand the industry requirements from candidates and help them be more job ready. Campus Facilities

The Nirma University campus is 115 acres in size. The campus provides appropriate facilities and arrangements for students to engage in sports, adventure, and cultural programmes. Through robust curricular and extracurricular programs, students are able to develop holistically. Besides, to support student learning a fully-stocked library is provided to its students. All these work together to provide the best and blooming future for the students.  

The candidate is required to live in a fully furnished and equipped hostel while at university. This is ensured to provide full knowledge and experience of the courses to its students. Hostels for the first year are off-campus, while those for other years are on-campus. Students can develop their academic, social, and intellectual skills at the university by becoming part of a dynamic and active learning environment. The campus organizes a variety of events and programs throughout the year to instill in the students the ability to think outside the box.
