Institute of Advanced Research

Overview

The Institute of Advance Research is situated in the city of Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and this private university was established in 2006 by the Puri Foundation for Education in India and later recognized by the state university in 2011. The university is filled with around 500 students in various undergraduate, masters and research degrees.

The collaboration with some international firms provides international exposure for the students of the university. The faculty members have experience from different universities all around the world. The university gives special emphasis on research and the exchange of education from foreign universities.

The university has various departments which offer various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in several specializations like biotechnology, computer science and management. There are a total of 31 seats for admissions in Ph.D and the university offers proper research tools and laboratories. The guides are well experienced in their recognized field.

Along with academic excellence, the university also provides better infrastructure and  facilities like canteen, mess, hostel, gym, and many more. The university offers admission to students from every corner of the world. The university's main focus is to produce industry-ready students who can directly get involved in their career after completing the academic session. The university offers various seminars and live training programs to enhance the practical learning abilities of the students.

Course Highlights

The university has various departments that offer different courses in several specializations. Here are some of them.

● The Department of Biotechnology & Bioengineering offers different courses like B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, and Doctoral degrees in various specializations such as biotechnology, biomedical, microbiology, chemical engineering, and many more.

● The department of computer science and engineering offers different courses like BCA, B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D degrees in various specializations such as physics, data, science, information, technology, computer science and engineering, and many more.

● The department of business and management offers different courses like BBA, MBA, and Ph.D.

Admission Process

The students need to follow the given procedure to get admission to the university.

● The student needs to fill in the application form with the required details.

● Filling in the application form will require uploading documents like marksheets and certificates of previous academic records.

● The candidate needs to choose the desired subjects they wish to take the admission test for.

● After choosing the course, one needs to check their eligibility before proceeding further.

● On fulfilling the eligibility requirements, the candidates are advised to pay the application fee and later be eligible for the counseling process.

● On passing in the group discussion and personal interview, the students are awarded admission.

● The students need to pay the fee at the given time to secure their seat in the desired subject.

Results and Cut off

The university requires a minimum grade of 60% on the qualifying examination for the required course. A relaxation of 5% marks is given to students belonging to the reserve categories like  SC/ST or OBC. Some courses, like Ph.D, require the students to have a minimum required certificate from the central or state university and they need to participate in a personal interview.

After securing the passing marks, a merit list will be prepared by the university and admission to the selected candidates will be allotted.

Placement

The placement cell at the university enables students to work in a global environment. The university gives special emphasis on the all-around development of the student by providing  live training and special classes to enhance the ability to crack interviews. Mock tests for aptitude and interviews are organized on a regular basis. Many international universities, like Yale University, USA, University of Oklahoma, USA, La Trobe University, Australia, Southampton Solent University, UK are recruiting research students from here. Not only the universities but some sort of multinational companies like Axis bank, HDFC, IFCO and many more recruits the students from the university.

The alumni from the Institute of Advance Research are working all around the world in different sectors of employment. Many of the steps were taken by the university to stay connected with their previously passed students to form a connection between the university and the employment sectors.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat and has facilities like a hostel, gym, mess, canteen, library and many other things. There is a separate hostel for girls which has a capacity of 72 students and a separate hostel for boys which has a capacity of 34 students. The hostel fee is 45,600 for non-ac rooms and for ac rooms, the candidates are charged 50,000 each semester, which includes the mess charge.

A library is also present at the university, which provides the students with academic books and the facility to study there in a peaceful environment. The library also provides the daily newspaper and magazines for current affairs and general knowledge purposes.

There is a sports facility that enhances the physical fitness of the students and gives them a break from the regular academic sessions. The university organizes regular sports tournaments in cricket, football, kabaddi, chess, badminton and many more. The gym here is equipped with all the modern equipment and tools that help students do intense workouts.

The university also provides a transport facility for the students and staff members. The canteen offers nutritious and tasty food for the day scholars and staff. The canteen provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner to all the students. 

There are several student clubs at the university that help students perform extra-curricular activities like singing, dancing, etc.
