Overview

The Chitkara University (CU) was established in the year 2010. The university was set up by the Punjab State Legislature under the Chitkara University Act. The red colour in the logo of Chitkara reflects, “Explore Our Potential”. The university was set up with the vision to expand the realms of education through innovation. 

The university is recognized by UGC and has received course approvals from the respective authorities. By promoting academic excellence through interdisciplinary and applied research, the university aims to achieve global recognition. As a result of this student-centric approach, Chitkara University is renowned as one of the best private universities in the North India region.

The faculty at CU are very experienced and are among the best in the country. The faculties and staff from Chitkara University involved in the University's work embrace a set of core values of the university. Students learn in spacious, amphitheater-style classrooms that are equipped with modern info and communication technology (ICT) equipment and do lab work in a modern, well-equipped lab.

Admission Process 

The admission procedure under any course of interest offered by Chitkara University proceeds via the follow up of the prescribed set of steps. Starting with the filling of the application form within the scheduled dates. Accordingly, the candidate should appear for a counselling session on given dates, subject to unavailability on the date, the application will be declined. 

Via counselling, the candidates are guided to choose the course and then a form of preference of courses is filled by them. After this, the candidate needs to sit for the specified entrance exam for the specified course. Based on the merit list prepared, the students are allotted seats in their desired courses. 

Results and Cut off

It is only upon meeting the required eligibility requirements that students will be able to apply for any desired course under Chitkara University. In order to be eligible, a student must fulfil the following requirements:

• It is essential for the candidate to have a minimum aggregate of 60% in any discipline of study.
• For bachelors: The candidate must possess a valid specified exam scorecard
• For masters: The candidate must have cleared the graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks

When the above requirements are fulfilled, the candidate becomes eligible. Following a seat in the desired stream course is offered to the candidate, subject to availability.

Campus Facilities

The Chitkara University is situated outside the main city in a green environment surrounded by lush vegetation. The university campus is 50 acres in size. The whole campus is high-speed Wi-Fi enabled with a canteen facility supported by rich infrastructure. A special sportorium is present at the campus to promote sports and physique among students. To promote proper learning the university provides the students with a fully stocked library and accessible labs. All the available facilities contribute to the promotion of healthy discussions among students as well as good physical health. The university provides hostels for facilitating the security and healthy learning and development of the students. The hostels of the university are well-furnished and secured, positioned within the campus. Several extracurricular activities are offered in the course structure to promote and facilitate the holistic development of the students. Participation in these activities helps to nurture and polish the skills of the students and allows them to reach their full potential.
