Regional Institute of Education, RIE

The National Council of Educational Research and Training abbreviated to NCERT is an autonomous organization established in the year 1961 by the Indian Government. The objective of NCERT is to advise and assist the Central Government and State Governments regarding programs and policies to better school-level education. It is a crest firm that has been set up to advise and assist the MHRD, or Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and Departments of Education of all of the Union Territories and States. It helps in the formulation and implementation of its policies and programs in the field of school-level education.

Regional Institute of Education or RIE, Bhopal is a separate unit of NCERT, New Delhi. The Institute attends to the education of the teachers and other educational requirements in the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, and the States of Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The mission of this institute is to ensure and improve the learning process for the students through advocacy and good teaching initiatives. They ensure to improve competency and make an aura of providing high-quality education and finesse both to the students. They teach them creatively by ensuring that attention to detail is well taken care of. They focus on making sure that the students have a bright career in the field of education. Overall, they focus on developing the students intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

Many distinguished trainers, teachers, lecturers, professors, and leaders in diverse fields have come out of RIE. The reputation and progress of an Institute depend mainly on performance put forth by the students in academics, sports, and cultural activities. In addition to all of these, the students of RIE maintain high values and ethics. The campus has access to a digital library, audio-visual room, educational cell, civic facilities, and many other aids to the staff and students. The Institute is committed to delivering quality Teacher Education programs. Currently, the institution offers a one-year M. Ed. and a two-year B. Ed. program. They also provide four-year integrated teacher preparation programs of B.A. Ed. and B.Sc. Ed. for preparing secondary school teachers in various fields such as Science, Mathematics, English, and Social Science. Their in-service programs serve the professional development and needs of teachers, teacher educators, and other school functionaries. They also offer a one-year program, Diploma in Guidance, and Counselling for preparing teacher counsellors.

The candidates who have completed their B. Sc., B. Ed. and other degrees have high chances to get placed at D.A.V.s, K.V.s, and J.N.V.s. They can also get placed at Atomic Energy Research Centres and other institutions. Some of the students who have graduated from this Institute are placed as counsellors across several reputed schools and firms. They are also employed at several colleges and universities as educators. Most of the students are placed at private schools as TGTs. Some of them have gone on to try their hands in jobs at Azim Premji Institute, D.P.S., and likes. The college has a placement record of 100 percent as most of the students completing their graduation are placed at well-known schools and colleges.
