The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has initiated the admission process for the year 2024 by releasing the application form on December 27, 2023. The application process is now facilitated through the Common University Entrance Test for Post-Graduate (CUET PG). IIMC, renowned for its comprehensive Post Graduate Diploma courses in various disciplines such as Hindi and English Journalism, Odia, Urdu, Marathi, Malayalam, and others, is a prestigious institution in the field of mass communication.
Traditionally, IIMC used to conduct its own university-level entrance examination until 2021 for admission to all PG Diploma courses. However, starting from the year 2022, the admission process shifted to CUET PG scores for most of the PG diploma courses. It marks a significant transition in the admission procedure, streamlining it with a common entrance test. Nevertheless, for certain PG diploma courses in Journalism, the institute will persist in organizing its standalone entrance examination.
Candidates aspiring to secure admission into the PG Diploma courses at IIMC need to stay updated on the crucial details such as application procedures, eligibility criteria, and exam dates. The institute has diversified its course offerings to cater to different language mediums, providing candidates with a wide array of choices to specialize in.
The eligibility criteria are essential for prospective candidates to fulfill, ensuring a fair and competitive selection process. The exam dates have been announced through CUET PG, and candidates should mark their calendars accordingly. The admission process will include shortlisting candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination, and those selected will have the opportunity to enroll in their chosen PG Diploma courses at IIMC.
In conclusion, the IIMC Entrance 2024 signifies a shift in the admission process to CUET PG, with the institute continuing to conduct its entrance examination for specific PG diploma courses. Aspiring candidates must carefully navigate the application process, meet eligibility requirements, and prepare for the entrance examination to secure a coveted spot in one of India’s premier institutions for mass communication studies.
