IIRF (Indian Institutional Ranking Framework) – The government suggested holding a Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for UG admissions in top universities in India, which could be a game-changing decision for higher education in India. In CUET 2022, we observed that all the universities included in CUET received applications from about 15 lakh students for various UG courses. Participating in CUET 2022 were 90 universities in total. For CUET 2023, there are 215 best universities in India from all four categories like Central University, State University, Deemed University, and Private university.

The Common University Entrance Test was made possible by the National Education Policy (NEP), a program that aims to fundamentally alter the nation’s educational system. This will not only relieve the stress caused by high cut-offs but also give every applicant a fair chance to enroll in one of the nation’s top universities in India. The University of Delhi (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and 41 other Central Universities are participating universities under CUET.

The list of CUET universities is presented to you in this article. The list of CUET-affiliated institutions that will participate in CUET 2023 and accept CUET scores for undergraduate admissions can be found below.

What is CUET?

The common entrance test for central universities is referred to as CUET or CUCET. As was previously mentioned, the CUCET is a national-level entrance examination for enrollment in 44 central universities in India. You were previously only evaluated based on your grades from the 12th grade, but now you must pass a standard aptitude test. A group of seven people will suggest the modalities for this aptitude test. These colleges will administer this exam for the first time this year in accordance with a recent recommendation. The merit-based admissions procedure for these universities was eliminated by NEP. Only this common entrance exam will be utilized for student admission.

IIRF – CUET UG 2023 Official Notification

Students have a single window to apply for admission to reputable central universities through the CUET. March 30th, 2023, is the last day to submit an application for the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) 2023.

Admission to reputable central universities will be granted to applicants who pass the CUET 2023 exam. For admission to undergraduate programs, candidates who have completed their 12th grade can submit a CUET application. Additionally, candidates who have received their diplomas can apply for post-graduate programs.

Some insights into the top Universities in India Participating in CUET 2023

Jawaharlal Nehru University

JNU is one of the highest-rated universities in every ranking framework, which is a dream university for anyone. More than 18 Defense and R&D institutions have received accreditation and recognition from JNU. 55 centers, seven special centers, and 13 schools are present. JNU currently offers over 100 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. There are classes available in the following disciplines: arts, science, computer applications, medicine, engineering, law, mass communication, and management. JNU also provides language-specific diplomas, advanced diplomas, and certificate programs. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), administered by NTA, will be the method of admission for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Banaras Hindu University

The NAAC has awarded Banaras Hindu University (BHU) with an “A-Grade,” and the UGC has recognized it as a central university. Additionally, it belongs to the AIU. For better exposure for its faculty and students, Banaras Hindu University has signed memorandums of understanding with more than 40 domestic and international universities. Many students from abroad, including those from the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, etc., come to study at BHU because of its partnerships with numerous universities.

With the goal of promoting equal opportunities, the university also supports financially and socially disadvantaged students by offering a number of scholarships. Over the past ten years, BHU has become one of the top universities in terms of placements, with some of its students receiving packages worth more than INR 1 crore. BHU offers admission to students for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses on the basis of their performance in CUET.

Aligarh Muslim University

One of India’s biggest central universities, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has more than 37327 students enrolled. Students are welcomed at the university from all Indian states as well as from other nations, particularly those from Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia. There are currently 13 faculties, 117 teaching departments, 3 academies, and 21 centers and institutes at AMU. Most employees and students at AMU live on campus, where there are 80 hostels and 19 dorms for students. Malappuram, Kishanganj, and Murshidabad are off-campus locations for AMU. More than 300 courses are available at AMU in both traditional and contemporary fields of study. In addition to offering popular courses like BA, B.Voc, BSc, etc.

The university is well known for its MBBS and B.Tech programs. The Departmental Admission Test and the Entrance Exam, both administered by AMU, are used to determine admission to courses. In addition to this, CUET UG scores and counseling are used to determine admission to a number of BA, B.Voc, and BSc programs. Admission to AMU’s medical programs is determined by counseling and NEET results. Through its Center for Distance and Online Education, AMU also provides distance learning.

Jamia Millia Islamia

Delhi is home to Jamia Millia Islamia, also referred to as JMI, which is a major university. The UGC approved its establishment in 1920. It belongs to the AIU and has received an “A” rating from the NAAC for accreditation. The university offers more than 220 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across its nine faculties. Jamia University also has a number of learning and research institutions, such as the AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), the Academy of International Studies, and others, in addition to its nine faculties. With the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and JMI, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed that enables defense personnel to complete degrees and diplomas offered by CDOL’s distance learning program in a single sitting.
