Academic Excellence

Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), is a prestigious Deemed University specialized in chemical technology. Though located in Mumbai, the institute also has campuses at Jalna, Marathwada and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The institute is known for its significant contributions in the fields of chemical engineering, chemical technology, and pharmacy.  It is also an institute with a special status as mentioned in SECTION IV of the Report of the Empowered Expert Committee in 2018.

ICT which is accredited by AICTE, NAAC, NBA, NIRF, offers three degrees at the undergraduate level: B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology), B.Chem.Eng. (Bachelor of Chemical Engineering), Pharm. (Bachelor of Pharmacy). The institute offers several courses at the master’s levels too in Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy.

Research and Development

ICT stands out for its outstanding research work and collaborations with industries both in India and overseas. It has become the first institute in India to conduct research on sports fabrics. . Currently, ICT graduates 100 PhDs annually, which is about 10% of India’s engineering PhDs. ICT hosts several research centers within the campus. These include DBT-ICT (Department of Biotechnology) Center for Energy Biosciences, ICT-DAE (Department of Atomic Energy) Center for Chemical Engineering Education and Research, UGC Networking Resource Centre in Chemical Engineering, and Center for Green Technology.

Ranking and Recognition

In the prestigious and widely acclaimed educational ranking of Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF- 2021), ICT at 9th Rank in IIRF Deemed University Ranking 2021.
