Overview

The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurgaon was earlier known as ITM University. The university was founded in the year 1996 by Educate India Society. It is a private and autonomous institute. The main reason to set up the university was to be known globally for learning innovations, academic excellence and socially relevant research outcomes; strive to become the preferred destination for students, faculty, employers and collaborators & pride of alumni and the community.

The university was accredited by NAAC 2016-2021 and ASIC UK. The University Grant Commission (UGC) has also given approval to the institute. Besides, NCU is a proud member of AIU and ASQ(I) Pvt. Ltd. The Bar Council of India has provided recognition to the University. Apart from these, the university has been able to achieve a number of awards and ranks by recognized organizations. The list of accolades received by the University over the years, since its set up is countless and it strives to achieve more and more in the coming times as well.  

Each faculty belonging to each department of the university are selected from the best-in-class academic background. They deliver the course contents in creative and innovative ways to ensure maximum absorption of course matter. Alongside, some special guest lecturers (industry experts) are also invited to the university from time to time to deliver their practical knowledge to the students. The efforts made by the university allows students to learn the real meaning of what they are studying.

Besides, to ensure the proper utilization of whatever they are studying, the university has collaborated with great industries. In association with the industries, the university organizes mock interviews and placement practices to help them build a better future. 

Course Highlights 

• A Digital learning environment in the form of smart classrooms and wifi enabled practice classes is provided to the students to help them learn better.
• Students are provided with labs related to each course curriculum to encourage their practical learning.
• Internships and industrial visits are organized by the university with the assistance of partner companies to help students gain the knowledge of the practical feasibility of whatever they learn in their course curriculum.

Admission Process 

NCU offers a variety of courses in unique streams. The courses belong to UG, PG and Ph.D levels. In order to secure admission at the university, the candidate needs to begin with the fill-up of the application form available online. Upon the successful submission of the form, the candidate needs to produce a valid scorecard of the specified course relevant entrance exam. The exam specific to each offered course at NCU is: 
UG

• B.Tech - JEE MAINS
• BA LLB - CLAT/ LSAT / AILET

PG

• M.Tech - GATE
• MBA - CAT / XAT / GMAT / NMAT / MAT  CMAT 

Ph.D 

• NPET (NCU PhD Entrance Test)

Based on scores obtained at these specific tests and the 12th board marks, a merit list is prepared. Upon making into the merit list, the candidate is offered a seat in the desired course seat. The seat allocation procedure is completely dependent on seat availability. 

Results and Cut off

The admission in courses offered by the university begins only for selected candidates. These candidates are those who fulfil the eligibility criteria. For admission in UG purses, the candidates must be a 10+2 pass. In case of admission in B.Tech. courses, the minimum required 12th percentage is 60%. That for other UG courses, the 12th percentage must be 50%. Alongside, the candidate must pass 10+2 from a recognized central and state board. Upon fulfilment of the eligibility criterion, the candidate is allowed to sit for a university entrance test or the required qualification test. Based on the result merit list is prepared and seats are allotted to the eligible and applicable students.

Placement

To assist students to achieve good placement, the university has created The School of Professional Attachment (SPA). It in association with the leading industries provide great preparation opportunities to its students. A variety of technical and professional events are organised together by the university and the companies. Via active participation in the events, students gain a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise in their courses. As well through these events, students are prepared better for their final interviews during placements. The basic skills of the students are improved through career counsellings, gap review, mock interviews and hence enhances employability. Besides, it creates a greater reach to industries for enhancing the placement scales and options. This overall lends support to create a maximum chance for the utilization of students course relevant knowledge.

Campus Facilities

The campus of NCU is quite big to enclose all the required facilities for the students. It is located within the greenery of Haryana. The whole campus is built on modern infrastructure to ensure the fulfilment of all the needs of the students. Each nook and corner of the campus is wifi enabled and filled with all general requirements. Besides, the facilities of moot courts, seminar halls, course relevant labs and AC auditoriums are provided to the students. In addition, to help the students with their projects and assignments a fully-stocked library with digital support is made available to the students. To ensure the security and comfort of the students and help them learn in a healthy environment, the university provides them with hostel facilities. The hostel rooms are fully furnished and are installed with power backup systems, water purifiers and many more facilities. Besides, to fulfil the basic needs of the students the campus also possesses a convenience store from where they can buy any commodity of their requirement. Proper medical facilities, nutritional food serving canteens and a fully equipped gym are also a part of the rich and modern NCU campus. All these works together to ensure the healthy growth of the students.
