Overview

The Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) is a self-financed university. The roots of Symbiosis, established by Dr. SB Majumdar in the year 1971 and the university at Indore later got reformed into a modern technological university in 2016. Since then, it has become a cultural hub and a world-renowned academic center. Dr. Majumdar has received the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his role in the development of India.

The university has 43 academic institutions providing education to every age group in various disciplines. Skill development is something focused on by the university as it plays a crucial role in the “Make in India” initiative of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Equipping the young generation with the skills and vertical mobility that can help them to gain employment in their respective sectors of expertise. This university offers short-term courses for the skill development of the students, like in the fields of CS-IT, Mechanical, MBA in some specializations, and many more things that help students to gain employment.

Admission Process

These are the following steps one needs to follow to gain admission to this university.

● Apply online on the official site by filling out the required details such as the personal information, academic records, marksheets, and several other documents.

● Application fees vary for each course; one needs to submit the fees accordingly.

● Download the receipt after the successful payment of the application form.

● One needs to carry that printed form along with him/her to the counseling/interview.

● The eligibility and the index ranks will be considered for admission. Students need to pass all the rounds of interviews and fulfill the eligibility criteria.

● Students shall be required to submit an attested copy of documents along with a DD for the 1st Installment of Academic Fees, Medical Fees, and Caution Money drawn in favor of the university, for the confirmation of the seats.

Results and Cut off

These are the results and cutoffs one needs to be part of the university. A minimum of  50% marks or equivalent grade for general category candidates in the qualifying examination. 45% marks or equivalent grade in the case of candidates belonging to the State of Madhya Pradesh in a reserved category (excluding creamy layer) in the qualifying examination.

A genuine scorecard of entrance exams at state or national level, such as SNAP/ CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ MAH-CET etc. The university will be conducting its own entrance examination at the university campus for those candidates who do not have any valid entrance examination scorecard. Candidates are required to qualify in GD/ Presentation & Personal Interview conducted by the University.

Apart from that, the designing of the curriculum, expert guest sessions, sector-specific mentoring, onsite visits, and interesting internship projects are also held at the university for the all round development of the students.

This is an appreciable step taken by the university to build a network between the corporate world and the university, Although the first convocation was held in 2020, this university will soon find a lot of notable alumni here.

Campus Facilities

The university is situated in a pollution-free area of Madhya Pradesh in the city of Indore, which is also near the location of Bada Bangada Airport. The campus covers a total area of 25 acres, in which the major infrastructure consists of the classroom, hostel, library, and different laboratories for  applied sciences. Several facilities like sports grounds and performing art theater helps students in an all round development of their personalities.

The university has a central library which has many books related to the subjects of the students and also journals and newspapers for general knowledge and competing for government jobs. A seminar hall is also there, which holds several academic and cultural programs. A big auditorium for the cultural festival and practicing the performing arts like singing, dancing, and instruments.

The university also has facilities like banking, ATM, food court, medical, personal care, stationery, laundry and parking. A transport facility that provides mobility to the students and staff.
