Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences

Overview

Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University, located in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra was established under Section (3) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956 on 29th September 2003 by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The University is unique in more than one way. It specializes in Medical and Health Sciences with a dedication to serving the society as a Center of Excellence with emphasis on socially meaningful medical education, health care and research.

This Deemed University consists of the following units.

• Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy

• Centre for Biotechnology 
  
• Centre for Social Medicine

Academic Excellence

The degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by the University have approval of the Government of India, Govt. of Maharashtra and other states as well as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Medical Council of India (MCI) Dental Council of India (DCI), All India Physiotherapists Association (AIPA) Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and Nursing Council of India (INC).

It is a matter of great satisfaction that the university received accolades from His Excellency late. Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India for the pioneer work done in the field of integrated rural development.

In the prestigious and widely acclaimed educational ranking of Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF- 2025), Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences at 75th Rank in IIRF Deemed University Ranking 2025.
