Parul University

Post Limda, Waghodia, Gujarat, India - 391760

The landscape of private higher education in India has undergone a radical transformation, shifting from localized vocational training centers to expansive, multidisciplinary university ecosystems. Central to this evolution is Parul University, an institution that has garnered national attention through its rapid ascent in accreditation tiers, its industry-embedded pedagogical models, and its robust innovation infrastructure. Established as a private university under the Gujarat Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act of 2015, the institution's roots extend back to 1989, reflecting a long-term strategic commitment to social welfare, healthcare, and technical education.

Historical Genesis and Philosophical Foundations

The narrative of Parul University is inextricably linked to the vision of the Parul Arogya Seva Mandal (PASM) Trust. Founded in 1989 by the father of Dr. Parul Patel, the trust was established with the core objective of advancing social welfare through education and healthcare. The institution’s namesake, Dr. Parul Patel, a gold medalist and MD in Organon from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, served as a professor for nearly a decade before transitioning into a leadership role focused on institutional expansion.

The trust’s inaugural academic venture, the Ahmedabad Homeopathic College, was established in 1993, setting a precedent for a healthcare-centric foundational phase. This was followed by a strategic expansion into engineering and management disciplines, particularly under the leadership of Dr. Devanshu Patel. From 2008 onwards, the trust catalyzed the creation of several high-impact institutes, including the Parul Institute of Management and Research (2008), the Parul Institute of Physiotherapy (2009), the Parul Institute of Technology (2010), and the Parul Institute of Architecture and Research (2012). This trajectory culminated in the 2015 transition to full university status, characterized by a commitment to the "job creator" philosophy, which sought to move beyond traditional rote learning toward an entrepreneurial and innovation-driven academic culture.
