Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) was established in 1998; its main campus is in Hyderabad, with smaller campuses in Lucknow and Srinagar. It has a unique mandate; it was created in tribute to the vision of Maulana Azad, the first education minister of India, who championed higher education. Therefore, it strives to provide world class vocational and technical education in the Urdu language, to increase the reach of these subjects to students who may not be fluent in English. The common cut-off for most UG programs offered by Maulana Azad National Urdu University is based on the 10+2 Board Examination aggregate, and is 40%.
