Overview

In the year 1991, Sri Jagannath Prasad Ganeshi Lal Bajaj Charitable Trust Samiti was founded . Under this trust was set up GLA university in 1998. The main aim to establish this university was to make the holy Mathura city a recognized destination for knowledge seekers from around the world. The institute is known to be actively involved with social causes since its inception. 

GLA is a private university recognized by the Uttar Pradesh government. The university is a reputed member of AIU and has been accredited by IACBE and NAAC with Grade 'A'. Besides, the university is approved by UGC, AICTE, BCI, PCI and NCTE. Over the years, the university has gained a great reputation and recognition. It has received various accolades over the years of its glorious journey.

The university faculties are selected after a thorough screening process. The course material is delivered by the faculty in a very professional, creative and innovative way. They conduct interactive sessions and create discussion forums during each session. Besides, to enhance the learning process and thinking ability of students, the university also has various international and academic tie-ups. Some of the partner universities are IIM Kolkata, AMU, Jadavpur University, University of Malaya, Malaysia, University of Melbourne, Australia, University of St. Thomas, USA and many more.

To provide better career opportunities, the university has collaborated with various leading industries. Some of the industries include IBM India Pvt. Ltd., SVR Infotech, NewGen IDEC, Noida, Simpa Energy India, Noida and many more. In coordination with the various technical and non-technical departments, the university regularly organizes industrial visits to acquire technical activities. The managers of the company interact with the students and share the recent developments, strategies and market moves of the industry. Admission Process 

The GLA University offers a variety of courses across its specialized faculties. The faculties belong to a variety of streams and provide unique course experiences. Admission to any of these courses is completely merit-based. The admission procedure begins with the checking of the eligibility criteria. Following the candidate is allowed to fill up the online/offline application form. Then pay the application fees. Following the date of the entrance exam (GLAET) is selected from the university website. On the allocated date and slot, students can appear for the exam. Based on the scores obtained, the final merit list is prepared and the students are offered a seat in their desired course (subject to eligibility).  For admission to Ph.D, UGC NET/CSIR NET/ GATE/SLET/ GPAT scores are used for preparing the merit list. 

Results and Cut off 

To secure a seat under any specialization course offered by the university, the candidate should fulfill certain eligibility criteria. For most of the UG courses offered, the candidate must have minimum eligibility of 50% marks at 10+2. The minimum percentage is different and more for different courses. The candidate's board of 10+2 exam must be state or central recognized. Relaxation on eligibility criteria is provided for SC/ST candidates. 

Upon fulfillment of minimum eligibility, the candidate can apply for the admission process. On successfully clearing the selection process, a seat is offered to the candidate in the desired course. 

Placement

The university has a separate department by the name of Training and Placement Cell to provide the placement services. The cell helps students stand out and gain a competitive edge over others. The department is needed by some eminent professors with great experience and expertise in the industry. The cell works with a twin-fold focus. One by augmenting internal competencies by contemporary grooming of students. Second by enabling the industry to identify and absorb intellectuals. The cell works tirelessly to ensure that students get placed in reputed companies.

The talented alumni of the university are spread across the globe. With the professional knowledge and expertise gained from the university, they are holding top-notch positions in leading companies. Many graduates of the university, with the support of the university incubation centre, have turned out to be entrepreneurs. They are in association with the university open doors for helping current students. Campus Facilities 

The 110-acre campus of GLA University is situated amidst the pious land of Mathura. The whole campus is considered to provide a positive aura every moment to its students. To ensure the proper facilitation of the student's growth, the university provides them with wifi enabled, AC installed classrooms and labs. Besides, for promoting extracurricular activities among students Dance rooms, moot courts, music rooms and large auditoriums installed with modern infrastructure are provided to students. To help the students grasp concepts well and complete their assignments and projects properly, the university provides them with a central library. 

The GLA University takes proper care of the safety and comfort of the students. The institute provides 15 boys and 4 girls hostels within the campus. The whole campus is enabled with high-speed wifi and a 24 by 7 security system. The rooms and all hostels are fully furnished with the presence of all basic amenities to ensure a home-like feel for the students. The university has a convenience store where all the general needs of the students are fulfilled along with a Bank with an ATM . Besides, to ensure the health of the students, the university provides them with a yoga centre, gym, medical centre, and hygienic canteen and mess. All these work together to ensure the holistic development of the students within the campus.
