The DAV University is a state private university that is situated in the Jalandhar district of Punjab and was established in 2013 by the Punjab government and later recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers various courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in several specializations like engineering, science, arts, humanities, social sciences, management, commerce, law, journalism, mass communication, education, law, and many more.

The candidates need to follow the given process to get admission into the university.
The university offers admissions to students on the basis of the marks scored in an entrance examination organized by the university and other national level entrance exams organized by the state or central government. Apart from the entrance exams, the students need to fulfill the basic eligibility criteria. For an undergraduate program in engineering, students need to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent level of examinations from a recognized board of education in India with at least 45% of marks, and a relaxation of 5% mark is given to reserve category students. For a master’s degree, students need to have an undergraduate degree in similar specializations.
The university offers campus placement drives for students in their final year in every course. The university has a training and placement cell which plays a major role in all round personality development of the students by providing them with various mock interviews and aptitude tests, which help students to perform better in placement drives. Many students from the current session were placed in some good national and multinational companies. The highest package was approximately 24 lakhs per annum, and the average package was 3.5 lakhs per annum.
