Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) [Off-Campus in collaboration with IIT-Kharagpur & Indian Oil]

ICT or Institute of Chemical Technology was first established in the year 1933 and was known as the University Department of Chemical Technology. It was popularly known back then as UDCT which was part of the University of Bombay (Mumbai). The university became one of the best in the country due to its overly growing stature, size, and spread of activities. UDCT was transformed into UICT or the University Institute of Chemical Sciences in the year 2002, and under a policy of the World Bank, it received full autonomy by the year 2004. In November of 2017, UICT was visited by the members of the NAAC (National Assessment Accreditation Council) and was graded A++, and out of 4, they received 3.77 CGPA. ICT continues to rank in India’s top ten Engineering Institutes and is rated four among the Pharmacy Institutes in India. Due to these achievements, ICT finally decided to step out of Maharashtra, and a new Institute of ICT with the collaboration of Indian Oil Odisha was inaugurated at Bhubaneswar in Odisha on 18th March 2018 by Hon’ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of India. After this, ICT announced further expansion to another campus situated outside Mumbai in May of 2018, and a land of 203 acres at Siraswadi, Jalna, was allotted for the campus.

The Institute of Chemical Technology is considered one of the best in the country dedicated to education, research, training and industrial collaboration in chemical technology, chemical engineering, pharmacy, applied chemistry, biotechnology and bio-processing. Since its establishment, the University has shown excellent work and has given the country the best students, alumni, teachers, faculty, etc. After the establishment of NIRF (National Institute Ranking Framework) in 2015, ICT ranked at 18th in India in Engineering studies. It also secured a rank of 62.7% out of 100 in which the score for teaching, learning, and resources was 51.99%, research, and professional practice was 48.2%, graduation outcome was at a high of 75.33%, outreach and inclusivity was 46.08%, and perception landed at 20.10%.

The eligibility criteria for B. Tech courses is that candidates must have completed their 12th grade (or similar relevant degree) with the combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They must have achieved a minimum aggregate of 50%. For selection, they need to appear for JEE primary and MHT CET and complete the cut off marks, which is in the range of 125-158. Similarly, for selection into B. Pharm, eligibility is 12th grade (or equivalent) with the science stream and must have cleared MHT CET.

ICT is very highly recognized and respected for its placement packages and achievements and results. The highest amount of package that has been given out to a student of ICT was 1.8 Million INR. The companies connected with ICT are L&T, Reliance, UOP India, and various others.
