What is the selection procedure for IES (UPSC ESE) 2027?

The IES selection is based on two stages:

• Written Examination: It’s the first stage in the ESE/IES 2027 application process. Those who want to get selected have to clear both the IES Prelims and IES Mains exams. For the preliminary exam, General Ability and Engineering subjects are two components. The only candidate who qualifies for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the preliminary exam will sit in the IES Mains exam.
• Personality Assessment by IES (Interview): The candidate who qualifies for both prelims and mains will be invited to take part in the IES personality test. The personality interview round will be 200 points. After the applicant has cleared the personality test, his/her documents and eligibility will be tested.
