Overview

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), School of Design was established in 2003 via the UPES Act 2003, of the Uttarkhand State Legislature. It is a private institute, recognized by UGC and accredited by B grade by NAAC. It is considered one of the best private design institutes in Uttarakhand boasting tie-ups with Pixel Galaxy. Besides, the institute is also certified by various national and international bodies like DSIR, IACBE, AIU, etc.

Admission Process

The courses offered by the institute are all unique and special, so the procedure to get admission under any course is also strict. The application process is an online procedure conducted via the official college website. The students willing to secure a seat are required to fill up the application form. Following the form fill up, for the UG courses (B. Des.) the students are marked based on their JEE Main/ UCEED or UPED DAT scores. The UPES DAT exam is conducted by the institute itself for those candidates who couldn’t attempt or score well in JEE Main or UCEED. Following this, the selected students need to sit for Group discussions and Personal interviews. Based on scores obtained, the final merit list is prepared and the admission process follows for the qualifying candidates.

Results and Cut-off

To start with the admission process, the candidate needs to fulfil the required eligibility for form filling. The eligibility criteria start with the higher secondary examination scores of the candidate where a decent percentage is a must. Higher secondary scores are evaluated for all levels of course admission. Following the clearance of the eligibility criteria, the candidate needs to clear the needed screens. Based on the scores of each screening test and the higher secondary exam, a final merit list is prepared. Based on the list, seats are offered to eligible candidates.
