Overview
Lady Hardinge Medical College, one of the top medical colleges in Delhi, was established in 1916 and later became a part of FMS ( Faculty of Medical Sciences), Delhi University in the year 1950. The college is situated in the heart of Delhi, Connaught Place. In 2020, the college stood on 9th rank by India today rankings. The college is known for providing various medical courses, including MBBS, MD/MS, MCh, PG/Diploma in varied specializations. As per records, the college has two teaching medical institutes, Kalawati Saran Child Hospital and Smt. Sucheta Krilani Hospital with almost 350 and 877 beds respectively.
The medical institute has almost nine departments headed by different heads of departments. The departments are Anatomy, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, and Physiology. The college has collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) for giving reference and training in streptococcal diseases for southeast Asia.

Courses
Lady Hardinge Medical College offers varied courses to the medical aspirants! Like MBBS, MD/MS, MCh and PG Diploma. There are 20+departments including Medicine, Microbiology, etc.
The MBBS is of almost 4.5 years, a one year internship is included in an MBBS course. If we talk about the college internship then, one year internship after MBBS is mandatory. The students also get a chance to spend their 2 months in the fieldwork in rural health centres of India. This internship is paid one, students get stipend as per the stipend policies of the government.

Admission Process
The institute has a different admission process for its different courses. As per now, the admission process is taking place in an offline mode. Students need to visit the college and fill the forms and submit it in a concerned office.
For taking admission in MBBS course, the students have to qualify NEET UG exam and get their name on the merit list. For admission in MD/MS, students need to give an entrance examination and their application must be selected by All India Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination under University of Delhi.
The admissions for Lady Hardinge PG/Diploma course are based on students' scores in NEET PG exam.

Placements
The medical institute is not running its placement cell. Though the college is providing a one year internship policy, which has a decent stipenda and is organised by the Governmnet of India. The college is working in coordination with many brands, but has a great link up with top hospitals, which helps students to get placed in various reputed hospitals in Delhi or Across Delhi.
