Overview

Khyati School of Design (KSD), Ahmedabad, is a well-known institute for students with a passion for design. KSD was established in 2017, and it proudly provides an open platform to its students to communicate about real-world problems. The institute supports the students in their attempts of ideating solutions to those real-world problems. It also emphasizes the theme of ideate and creates and delivers well-rounded designers with specialization in a particular area of design.

These future industry experts will be able to come up with easy, user-friendly, trendy and classy solutions that will match the national sensibilities and global expectations. The school is composed of experienced faculty members and mentors to deliver the specialization courses and for mentoring students from a variety of industries. KSD is affiliated with State-Owned University Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU) to provide various design courses. Course Highlights

KSD provides the students with attractive online classes on geometry, design process, and 3D exploration to help them learn with zeal and energy.
Various guest lectures by a variety of industry specialists are conducted from time to time at the campus to expose the students to current industry requirements.
Competitions are organized throughout the year by KSD for the students to inculcate in them the qualities of working with a goal and zeal to win and explore various ideas to improve their skills.
KSD conducts numerous workshops to provide a hands-on learning experience to the students so they can create and learn by themselves.

Admission Process

The admission process under the various Bachelors in Design and Masters in Design programs offered at KSD is composed of the two-tier procedure. The candidate needs to pass through both screenings that include:

Creative Situation Test
Personal Interview and Portfolio Evaluation

The admission process begins with the form filling in both online and offline mode through the official website for online form fillup or a campus visit for the offline form fillup. After successfully completing the form fillup process, the candidates are required to sit for the situation test. Those who clear the situation test are invited for a personal interview. After clearing both the round, the candidate is offered a seat under any course at the college.

The creative situation test is not compulsory for UCEED qualified applicants; they can directly apply for the personal interview and portfolio evaluation with the valid UCEED scorecard.

Placements

To provide the students with the best possible career, KSD invites various companies to the institute for participating in campus recruitment and internship drives. Companies from national and international expertise visit the campus every year and provide sound internship and placement facilities to the great minds of KSD. Besides, KSD organizes industrial visits to renowned industries and small-scale industries to provide its students with professional experiences and know the present all-around situations before entering the work areas.

Results and Cut-off

For taking admission under the various bachelors and masters courses offered by the college, the students must pass by the first screening, where for the bachelor’s course, the student must be 10+2 pass from any stream or must be 10+3 pass from diploma from the state board. They should qualify for either the UCEED exam or the creative situation test, followed by the personal interview where the candidate portfolio is evaluated. On the condition, the candidate clears all the screens; a seat is offered under the desired course to them.

For admission under a master’s course, the candidate needs an additional requirement of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university for filling up the application form. The remaining procedure remains the same.

Alumni Network

The alumni network of KSD is very active, and they take pride in their alma mater and make sure to come to visit their college whenever required. The well-established and experienced alumni of the school always come ahead to help their juniors and provide them with ideas and techniques to nourish and nurture their careers. The experienced and well-placed KSD alumni network members share their experience with the students at various events organised by the alumni network and the faculty members.

Campus Facilities

The self-contained KSD campus is built in the lush green area outside the hustle-bustle of the city to provide the students with a friendly and peaceful atmosphere to think, learn and grow. To facilitate the purpose, the school offers the students with computer labs, a variety of workshops (like craft workshops, Lino printing, and tie & dye hands-on workshop), and design studios with full wifi support. This is done to encourage practical learning to the students.

KSD possesses on-campus and off-campus hostel facilities with twin sharing AC and non-AC accommodation with separate wings for boys and girls contained with home-like food serving canteens. For recreation sports facilities are also provided. Transport facilities are available for the students for movement between the college and the hostel.

KSD offers an excellent environment for learning that is created in a way that the students can find their inspiration at every corner of the campus. There are plenty of facilities on campus to help students meet all their requirements and make the students feel comfortable.
