Overview

This university was created with the aim of providing quality education in Arts and Architecture to the students who are interested in this subject. This Institution was established by Andhra Pradesh State Legislature Act in 2008. India has a rich heritage and culture, having its charm due to several folklores, mythological depictions, legends of past etc. The past and richness of India have very high regard and respect in the rest of the world. Art and Architecture are interrelated so a correlation between these two is very much important in learning and understanding this field as a whole. This university is a first of its kind in the whole and it was established in Telangana having its headquarters at Mahavir Marg, at Masab Tank in the city of Hyderabad. 

The College of Fine Arts and Architecture was one of the renowned Institutions of Art in India and it has completed more than 70 years in the educational field of Arts and Architecture. It was established in the former Nizam state in 1940, and this top tier premier institute is still maintaining its heritage and standing strong as one of the top colleges in India. The institute was later transformed into a Government College of Arts and Architecture under the Department of Technical Education, Government of Telangana in order to promote the arts and local crafts. With the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 1972 (October), the college was merged with the university and became an administered college under JNT University.

Later on, The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was divided into four different universities, they are- JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Hyderabad, JNTU Kakinada and JNAFA University. This was done under the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature Act of 2008.

Course Highlights

At the undergraduate level, this Institution offers B. Tech, B. Arch., BFA and BDes courses. Candidates must pass 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects to meet the eligibility criteria for B. Tech and B. Arch courses. For BFA and B.Des students are required to pass Intermediate graduation. Passing in the TS-EAMCET entrance examination is required for obtaining admission to B.Tech. Students who meet the eligibility requirements to get B.Arch. admission in JNAFAU. Enrollment to admission is done via the counseling process. At the PG level M.Tech, M.Arch, MFA courses are offered. B. Tech and B. Arch students who have a valid score in TS PGECET will get selected to M.Tech and M.Arch courses. Ph.D seeking candidates must have an aggregate of 55% marks in MFA in Applied Arts. The selection is based on the marks obtained in a valid entrance examination followed by an interview. Students who have a valid score in UGC-NET\JRF, are exempted from giving this entrance examination.

Admission Process 

At first, interested candidates are required to apply online\ offline.

Eligible candidates are required to give the entrance test which is being conducted by the University.

● Final Selection

Candidates are selected on the basis of the total marks they have scored in the entrance test.

● Result and Cut off

Cutoff marks for admissions in each department are announced every year on the university website.    

Each year the college conducts an annual examination for its students. The result is declared on the university website.

Placement

The placement cell is promising and efficient. The Placement management team provides students with good pre-placement training and post-placement help. Group work, discussion, mock interviews, workshops, industrial visits and many more.  Career counseling is being provided by this team to give confidence and clear ideas to the students. Campus facilities

Hotel facilities inside the college campus for both boys and girls are being provided. Facilities of gym, library, cafeteria, gymnasium, basketball courts, swimming pools, cricket ground, auditorium, conference halls, computer center are also inside the college campus.

Alumni Network

Several eminent personalities have studied at this Institution. A dedicated website for connecting alumni is also there. Annual fest and reunion are also arranged by the University authorities. The university is under a continuous process of connecting and reaching out to the alumni. Though a stronger network is being wished for more participation among the alumni and contribution in the activities in various functions and programs of the esteemed University.
