Jadavpur University is an extremely prestigious university which is located in Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal. Tracing the history of Jadavpur University is no less than tracing India's freedom movement which is from 1905 to 1906. The college was established back in 1906 as Bengal Technical institute and later was converted into Jadavpur university in the year of 1955. Its architectural journey started in the year 1965 with fifteen students alongside prof. Amiya Banerjee. She was the head of the department as well. It had great masters as Sri Aurobindo was the first principal and some of the teachers included Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Gurudas Banerjee, Radha Kumud Mukherjee, and others. As per sources, the college was even ranked in the fifth position in India by the National Institute ranking framework 2020. Its former names include the National Council of Education and University status as well. This public research university is accredited by NAAC and has academic affiliations with UGC, AIU, AICTE, ACU, and PCI. With more than 630 academic staff and 13,750 students, this college delivers top-quality educational services.
