Overview
Established in 2009, the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences is known as one of the top medical institutes in New Delhi. It is a mono-super specialty hospital cum medical institute for Biliary and Liver diseases, located in the heart super-specialty Delhi. This renowned institute was established by the NCT (National capital of Territory), New Delhi. It was started as an autonomous University, under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
The deemed University provides various courses including M.Sc (Nursing) at PG level, Doctorate of Medicine, Master of Chirurgiae (MCh), and Diploma of National Board at the post-doctoral level. Apart from this, the university assists students with doctorate-level research education. ILBS Delhi is popularly called a teaching hospital, known for educating excellent students about the diagnosis and management of Liver and Biliary Diseases. ILBS is a hub of medical education in the field of Oncology, Nephrology, Cardiology along with liver-related specialties like Renal Transplant, Pediatric Hepatology, radiology, and Pulmonary Medicine.
During the pandemic, ILBS has become the first hospital to start Convalescent Plasma Therapy for treating serious patients. The therapy was done under the supervision of Dr. Sarin.

Admission Process
Candidates, who want to apply for ILBS courses, need to give an entrance exam. The deemed to be university organizes national-level entrance exam twice in a year, offering admissions to students in various post-doctoral, doctorate programmes and super-specialty programmes. ILBS invites candidates via its official notice. Candidates must download the ILBS form from its official website and submit it via credit/debit card or net banking.
- The application fee for PGCC courses is Rs 2,500, for PDCC courses is Rs 5,000 and for PhD and certificate programmes is Rs 1,000.
- For getting admission in PDCC/PGCC courses, candidates have to qualify the national test conducted by ILBS.
- For taking admission in MCh and DM, aspirants have to get a good score in NEET-SS, followed by other rounds.
- ILBS DNB admission is done via the entrance exam scores.
- The PhD admission is done on the basis of two-stages: written test and PI round.
