The admission process for IIAD can be availed both online and offline. Students are required to have completed 10+2 equivalent education from any nationally or internationally recognised board to be considered for the application at IIAD. The admission process utilises different steps that are necessary to award admission to only the most qualified and most creative-minded students that can benefit the most from the guidance of IIAD.
After filling in the form for IIAD, candidates must appear for an admission test that can be attained both online and offline. The admission test is called IDAT. It is a written examination used to test the candidates on their logical thinking, design aptitude, creative ability, and cultural awareness skills.
The scores of the candidates in the IDAT is used for awarding admission privileges to the students. For courses such as Fashion Business Management, both undergraduate and postgraduate, the IDAT is not used. Instead, the applicants for those courses must sit for the IMAT, which stands for IIDT Management Aptitude Test. This examination tests a candidate’s creative thinking, logical reasoning, and language skills.
For the fashion business management course, the IMAT is followed up with another personal interview round. The candidates that successfully pass both these rounds and are awarded admission to the college.
The placement cell of IIAD works tirelessly to connect with as many companies worldwide as possible to provide the students with extensive opportunities for placement and internships. In total, over 135 companies around the world are connected to IIAD for placements and internships.
Internships are a deeply rooted part of the curriculum offered at IIAD. The students are required to complete career-defining internships during their curriculum, and they are scored based on their performance in the internships. The institute has a rich history of offering exceptionally high levels of placements to all the students. For applying to the IIAD, an applicant is required to have completed a higher secondary (10+2) level of education from any recognised educational boards in India or Internationally. Students who have appeared for their higher secondary examinations and are awaiting results can also apply. The marks cut-off for the undergraduate programme applicants is a minimum aggregate score of 50% and above in their higher secondary education examination.
The students do not need to have any particular stream for applying at IIAD. For postgraduate admissions, the applicant is required to have a graduate degree from any recognised university in the country or internationally. The undergraduate degree of the applicant must correctly correspond to their choice of course for their postgraduate degree.
