Overview

Established in the year 1995, Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), also known as BIT - Mesra, is one of the highly ranked institutes in India to date. BIT is among one of the elite academic institutions which have provided world-class technology courses to its students.

Admission Process

As the admission procedure is varied for different courses, the shortlisted candidates are sent invitations via email for a personal interview. Once the final selection is done, the candidates are called for admission and further process.

• Then , press the option that says "Click Here to Apply Online" and choose the course.
• Here you need to register with your email id and create a password to log in. Make sure to keep such a password that you can easily put it again when you come back for the next login.
• Fill i n all the necessary details such as academics and personal details.
• Fill in your GATE scores.
• Here you need to pay a non-refundable application fee. The fee is around Rs 2500 for OBC/EWS/General and Rs 1500 for ST/SC candidates.
• Submit the application form but before that go through the details once again that you have entered. If you find any errors, then edit that and then recheck and submit.

Campus Facilities

The campus facilities of BIT serve as the community life of the institution. It is a fully residential campus that is home to around 3,200 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 2,000 faculty and staff members. 

From lecture halls, library, railway reservation and post office counter, book store, 2 auditoriums, gymnasium, stores and shopping complex, research and training laboratories, three guest houses, two canteens to administrative offices, the main building covers an area of 30,000 sq. ft. meters and a workshop facility of 4,000 sq meters.

Besides that, it also comprises sub-campus and facilities for recreation, cultural and sports activities. 

There are 11 hostels for boys and 3 for girls along with dining halls and common rooms for indoor games. 

The campus facilities act as a unique strength of the institution which not only boosts up the energy level of the students but also lets them concentrate on studies.
