Academic Excellence

Established in 2002, BMS Institute of Technology and Management traces its roots to BMSET, the same trust that set up the first private technical institute, BMS College of Engineering. BMSIT&M is governed by BMS educational trust founded by Sri B M Sreenivasaiah and his illustrious son, Sri B S Narayan.

The history of BMS institutions rewinds back to the year 1946 with the establishment of the first private engineering college in the country, BMS College of Engineering  (BMSCE), by late Sri B.M Sreenivasaiah. He was a philanthropist and a great visionary who realised the necessity of technical education even before the country got independence. He was honoured by the Maharaja of Mysore with the title “Dharma Prakasha Raja Karya Prasaktha” for his extraordinary service in the field of education. The legacy he once began is being upheld with the same zeal by his inheritors and they continue to cherish his vision and ideals.

It vision is to emerge as one of the finest technical institutions of higher learning and to develop its students as engineering professionals who would be technical competent, ethical and environmental friendly for betterment of society

Research

R & D involves in identifying new research areas, developing projects leading to publications in National/International Journals and conferences. Established R&D Cell at the Institution level to promote Research & Innovation among the faculty & students. The Cell helps in developing co-operative and complimentary research among various Departments under BMSIT&M to explore advanced technologies. The Cell holds periodical Review meetings on the progress of research being carried out for Ph.D. as well as of the funded projects. The Cell also guides in writing projects, scientific papers leading to publication as well as in identifying results of research for filing patents. The Institution foregrounded the concept of research amongst the students from first year of their study. Necessary environment and facilities were created. MHRD- Institution Innovation council is setup to support student innovations leading to new products, patents and interested students will start the career as entrepreneurs.

• Nikhil Chinapa is an Indian DJ, host and festival curator, often credited with popularizing EDM music among the youth in India. He has been associated with MTV India since the late 1990s and has appeared in multiple television shows including Roadies and Splitsvilla
• Avantika Mishra is an Indian film actress, former model who predominantly appears in Telugu films. She has also appeared in a few Tamil films
