Overview

The Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), Delhi/NCR was founded in the year 1996. The ATDC has emerged as India’s largest Quality Vocational training provider for the apparel sector. It has set up 65 vocational institutions as VTPs aligned to NSDC, 30 SKPs aligned to AICTE’s NSQF, and has collaborated with RGNIYD. With the help of the previously mentioned councils, the centre provides level 5, level 6, and level 7 of NSQF for 2 B. Voc Programmes. 

It is the only organization offering shop floors, supervisory and managerial level courses within the education and training ecosystem. The comprehensive training ecosystem has accorded a leadership position to ATDC. It has won 4 prestigious awards- the “ASSOCHAM AWARD” for Best Institute Innovation 2015, Educational Excellence Award 2014, Best Vocational Institute 2014, and the UK-India Skills Forum Award in 2011. 

The study pattern and structure presented by the ATDC through its 100 centres facilitate the opportunity of online study from the best faculty across the fashion industry. Admission Process

Admission under any course included within the variety of levels and schemes at any ATDC centres is possible via the following:

  • Registration: Register at the website of ATDC for the desired course and read all the relevant details regarding the course.
  • Application: Fill up the application form and submit its hardcopy to the Principal at any Vocational training Institute under ATDC
  • Following this, candidates are invited for a
    • Screening test
    • Skype interview

Upon selection, the candidate is provided with the desired seat. 

Results and Cut-off

The eligibility for admission under any course offered by ATDC via its various centres is essentially the 10+2 clearance of the candidate. After this, the candidate is allowed to fill the application form. Followed by filling up the application form, a screening test, and an interview takes place. Upon selection in each of these steps, the candidate is offered a seat in their desired area. 

Placements

For addressing employability, ATDC possesses a separate placement cell. It has a record of providing jobs to a maximum number of students, rendering economic independence to approximately 1 million families of candidates. The national placement cell of ATDC via state and national level Rozgar melas and placement meets have successfully placed 70-75% of candidates. Placements are done in wage employment as well as facilitating 10-15% to take up self-employment.

The national head office of the ATDC placement cell plays a crucial role between industry and the student community. It creates meaningful interaction to bring awareness to faculty and students. It helps the students prepare to meet the changing demands of the industry. ATDC network has a strong linkage with key apparel manufacturers and exporters via AEPCs apparel industry members over 8000 registered manufacturers. The ATDC has signed an MOU with AEPC for providing better placement opportunities to students.
