Sri Chandrasekharandra Saraswati Vishwa Mahavidyalaya

Overview

Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya (SCSVMV) as a  Deemed University is located on a sprawling campus of 50 acres of land in a commercial city of Kancheepuram. The university was established with the blessing of Their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal.

Vision

The university is driven by intrinsic human values and vision:

To provide "quality higher education coupled with Indian Value system and at the same time make it affordable to all sections of the society irrespective of their social or economic standing". It is to identify the innate talents of students and bring out their hidden potentialities and help in development of their all-around personality with value systems.

Research and Development

The university is known for its priorities and focus. It promotes research and development in all its departments, under the dean of research and development. Creativity and innovation are the guiding principles for both students and faculty. Ph.D. programmes are offered in all departments. The Department of Sanskrit and Indian Culture has produced more than 25 doctoral degrees. A large number of researchers are pursuing their doctoral research programmes. Admissions are offered twice a year into the doctoral programmes.

To promote research over a wide range of disciplines in the University, four Centres of Research have been set up:

• Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Centre For Advanced Research (SJCAR)
• Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Centre For Advanced Computing (SJCAC)
• Advanced Management Research Centre (AMRC)
• Centre For Advanced Manufacturing and Material Processing (CAMMP)

Ranking and Recognition

In the prestigious and widely acclaimed educational ranking of Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF- 2021), SCSVMV at 66^th Rank in IIRF Deemed University Ranking 2021.
