NITTE University, Mangalore

NITTE, a Deemed to be University aspires to build a humane society through excellence in education and health care. It is a premium institute of higher education which is located in Derlakatte, Mangalore, India. It was formed under the Trust of NIITE, a Trust sponsored by Nitte Education Trust which has established 31 institutions spread in three campuses at Nitte, Mangalore and Bangalore. 

The A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences was the first constituent college of Nitte University but today, it has five constituent colleges, the other four being K.S. Hegde Medical Academy), N.G.S.M. Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences and Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy.

It is praiseworthy that the institute showed great concern and commitment towards society by setting up the first psychiatric center to address the challenges of mental health, especially the needs of rural Karnataka. Nitte ‘s strong sense of social responsibility marks all its activities.
