Kursi Road, Lucknow, U.P, India - 226026

The landscape of private higher education in India has undergone a profound transformation, moving from specialized technical institutes to multidisciplinary research-intensive universities. At the forefront of this evolution in Northern India is Integral University, Lucknow. Established as a minority institution under the Uttar Pradesh State Act Number 9 of 2004, the university represents a significant synthesis of traditional value-based education and modern scientific inquiry. Situated across a sprawling 120-acre green campus in Dasauli, approximately 17 kilometers from the Lucknow city center, the university has expanded from its 1998 origins as the Institute of Integral Technology into a comprehensive educational ecosystem. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act, 1956, it stands as a premier institution accredited with an "A+" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This article provides an exhaustive analysis of the university's academic structures, research capabilities, incubation facilities, and its strategic role in the global educational landscape.

Historical Foundations and Governance Framework

The trajectory of Integral University is rooted in the legislative and social history of Uttar Pradesh. The foundation stone of the precursor institution, the Institute of Integral Technology, was laid on November 3, 1993, by the esteemed rector of Darul-uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Abul Hasan Ali Hasani Nadwi. By 1998, the engineering college began its operations with introductory programs in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering, driven by the Islamic Council for Productive Education (ICPE). The transition from a technical institute to a full-fledged university was catalyzed by a legislative declaration from the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, leading to the formal enactment of Act Number 9 of 2004.

The university’s governance is anchored by the vision of its founder, Prof. S.W. Akhtar, and a leadership structure that emphasizes intellectual integrity and cultural diversity. As a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the institution adheres to rigorous academic standards and maintains approvals from nearly every major regulatory body in the country.
