Guru Kashi University is a private state university which is situated in Talawandi Sabo, Punjab, and was established in 2011, although the university has been operating since 1998 as a polytechnic school and later the other disciplines were added to it and it was turned into a University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized university in 2011. The university offers admission to both national and international students at the university, which creates a global environment at the campus. The university offers residential facilities to all the students, which makes them share their culture and create a global ambiance.
The university offers more than 50 courses in diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various specializations such as basic science, humanities, paramedical science, pharmacy, engineering, commerce, management, physical education, education, law, computer applications, and many more. The candidates have to follow the given procedure to get admission to the university.
The students are given admission to the university on the basis of their previous academic records and the cutoff mark in the entrance exams organized by the university or national level entrance examinations.
The university offers admission to the engineering courses on the basis of the marks scored by the students in the JEE Mains and Gate entrance examinations. For other courses, the university offers admission on a merit basis or conducts an entrance examination.
The students must fulfill the eligibility criteria to get admission to the desired courses. One has to pass the 10+2 or an equivalent level of examinations from a recognized board of education with at least 45% marks to get admission to an undergraduate course. For B.Sc, the students have to score at least 50% marks in 10+2. For a master's degree , one must have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and 55% marks for an M.Sc program. For the doctoral programs, the students should have a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 55% marks, and a relaxation of 5% is given to reserve category students. The university conducts an entrance examination followed by group discussion and a personal interview for admission to Ph.D programs.
