Overview

The GLS University is a private university which is situated in the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and was established in 2015 by the Gujarat Law Society (GLS) and later recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in several specializations such as engineering, law, education, management, commerce, business administration, performing arts, computer applications, design, and many more.

The university has an exceptional set of faculty members who have experience in both teaching fields along with industrial backgrounds. They impart the knowledge into the students which help them to complete their academic session and later helps in their professional careers. The university has collaborations with 17 international academic organizations like Waikato University, NZ, Wismar University, Germany, Essex University, UK, University of Aberdeen, UK, Wasar & Brown College, USA, etc. These collaborations help the university organize various exchange programs like students, faculty, knowledge, and research that offers the students a global exposure.

The university also organizes a number of seminars, workshops, live training programs, and guest lectures from industrial experts, which help the students learn new skills and all round development. The students at the university have industrial experience during their academic sessions through industrial visits and internship programs. The university offers campus placement drives for the students and prepares them with mock interviews and various aptitude tests. University is ranked 162nd in all India and the 17th state university of Gujarat by the IIRF University Rankings 2023, among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers a number of courses under various faculties in several specializations. Some of them are mentioned below.

• The Faculty of Management offers courses like BBA, MBA, BBA+MBA, and Ph.D in various specializations such as marketing analysis, human resources, strategic management, finance, international economics and trade, and many more.
• The Faculty of Commerce offers courses like B.Com, M.Com, and Ph.D in various specializations such as accounting, baking, business administration, and many more.
• The Faculty of Computer Applications and IT offers courses like PGDCA, BCA, M.Sc, MCA, and Ph.D in various specializations such as data mining, information technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and many more.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given procedures to get admission to the university.

• The candidates need to visit the official website of the university and click on the admission block.
• The candidates need to choose whether they want to apply for a UG, PG or Ph.D program and click on the admission redirecting page.
• The candidates need to register themselves with their mobile numbers and email IDs.
• The candidates will be given a user ID and password with which they have to log in to the application form.
• The application form needs to be filled in with the required personal details and one has to upload the necessary documents like marksheets and certificates of previous academic records.
• The candidates have to pay an online application fee to submit the application form.
• The candidates need to appear in the entrance examination required by their desired subjects.
• The students who score the cutoff marks in the entrance examination and fulfill the required eligibility criteria are called for the process of counseling.
• The students have to verify their documents and they have to go through group discussions and personal interviews.
• The university declares a merit list of the selected candidates who have to pay the admission fee at a given time to confirm their seats at the university.

Results and Cut off

The students are given admissions to the university on the basis of their previous academic records and the marks scored in the entrance examinations organized by the university and other government agencies at the national level.

The university offers admissions in the management courses on the basis of the marks scored in the CMAT entrance examination. For other courses, the university conducts an entrance examination on its own, and the students with the cutoff marks are called for counseling, where they may have to go through group discussion followed by a personal interview. The eligibility of the students is different on the basis of UG, PG, and Ph.D as given below.

The students must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent level of examinations from a recognized board of education with at least 45% marks to get admission to an undergraduate course. A relaxation of 5% marks is given to reserve category students. For a master’s degree, students need to have an undergraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. For doctoral programs, students should have a postgraduate degree in a similar specialization from a recognized university with at least 55% marks.

Placement

The university offers campus placement drives for students in their final year of academic session that give them an opportunity to start their professional career just after completing their academic session. The university calls up to 140 companies for recruitment in every academic session. The highest package received by any student is 12 lakhs per annum, and the average salary package offered to the students is 4 lakhs per annum. The major recruiters of the university are Amul, MRF, Adani, Paytm, Godrej, ICICI Bank, and many more.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the university is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and spread over an area of 10 acres. The campus is filled with a lot of greenery in every corner that creates a suitable environment for educational purposes. The campus offers the facilities of a girls' hostel, libraries, computer labs, auditorium, transportation, sports, seminar halls, and many more.

The seminar hall at the university is used for hosting many seminars, workshops, and other discussion activities that help students resolve their academic problems and enhance their practical thinking capability. The library at the university has a lot of academic books along with journals and research papers. The students have access to the library where they can study and borrow books for an academic session.

The auditorium at the university is used for hosting various events like cultural and technical programs. It is fully air conditioned and has a seating capacity of 275 students at a time. The auditorium has the digital facilities of wi-fi, LCD screens, and sound bars.

The university offers a hostel for girls inside the campus which offers clean rooms with the facility of mess. The mess has good food which is healthy and tasty as well. The university offers a sports facility at the campus that promotes physical fitness in the students.
