Indian Institute of Information Technology

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune is also known as IIIT Pune, is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology, a group of Higher education institutes in India focused on Information Technology. It is founded by MHRD, the Government of India and few other industry partners as a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership Institution. Government College of Engineering situated in Pune was the mentor Institute for Indian IIIT Pune.

The IIITP started its academic sessions from July 2016 onwards. For the A.Y 2018-19, it offered only two courses in Bachelor of Technology for the trades like Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. From A.Y 2019-20 onwards, the Institute has started Masters of Technology as well as Doctor of Philosophy programs. The Institute offers its M.Tech. programs through the CSE department with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and the department of ECE with specializations in the Internet of Things.

Career Development & Corporate Relation Centre provides a pool of opportunities to the students over a wide variety of careers in a broad spectrum of in our country as well as in abroad. The Cell also provides necessary guidance to the students for planning their future and for their own personality development. Various other programs such as career guidance seminars on Higher Education, orientation program for placements are organized to help the students for planning their careers. IIIT, Pune invites various public as well as private sector organizations for campus recruitment of final year students.

Doctoral programs aim at assisting students in acquiring proficiency in their selected area of research. The academic program leading to the Ph.D. degree is broad-based and like any other doctoral degree, it involves a course credit requirement as well as a research thesis submission. The Institute encourages research in interdisciplinary areas through a channel of joint supervision as well as interdepartmental group activities.

IIITP is actively involved in multidisciplinary areas of research and promotes engagement with various other industries through consultancy services as well. The research and the consultancy activities are undertaken by the dynamic faculty members of the institute. Institute has also taken enough initiative in procuring industry-standard tools and equipment for carrying out various research activities. It also involves the young minds of their graduate students for actively participating in all these activities.

IIITP boasts of a hundred percent placement record with the likes of Amazon, BOSCH, Accenture, L&T, TCS, Directi, TCS, quantiphi, GreyB, doubtnut, virtusa, FinIQ, Gojek Tech, Persistent, Interactive Brokers, carwale, STMicroelectronics, ElasticRun, Affine, servicenow, valuefy, xoriant and MAQsoftware. The highest package offered for 2020 is 22 lakhs and the average package offered is 7.58 lakhs. The support of the students working in the corporate has been increasing and more and more firms are willing to recruit students from the Institute. The highest CTC offered has been projected to keep increasing in the subsequent years.
