The University Institute of Engineering & Technology is just as the name suggests. It is a self-financed institute for engineering and technology under CSJMU or Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, formerly known as the Kanpur University. This college was established in 1996 and was then known as the Institute of Engineering & Technology. It is situated in Kanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Initially, this college only had a student population of 240, but now it has more than 2,200 students enrolled. UIET offers six major career-oriented programs, and they are M.C.A., B.C.A., M.Sc. in Electronics, M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, and Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics, and Bachelor of Fashion Technology. Their motto is “Rise from the darkness to light”. The vision of UIET is “to serve the country”. The mission of this institute is to gain instructional excellence and scientific discovery. Academic Performance

The academic record of students from the UIET Kanpur is considered to be immensely impressive. The University of Engineering & Technology starts its academic session in the month of July. There are various departments and each department has its head and these heads of the departments are under the direct supervision of the appointed directors. UIET also offers some courses other than the six major programs. These courses are B.Tech., B.Sc., B.A., M.Sc., L.L.M., MBA, M.D.-Clinical, etc. in twenty different subjects.

In 2019, 60-70% of students on average got placed in some of the major companies. Those companies are Easy Naukri, Eureka Forbes Pvt. Ltd., TCS, Infosys, Policy Bazar, SmartChip, etc. The average package offered by such companies in this college was INR 3-3.4 Lakhs per annum.
