Swai Man Singh Medical College

SMS Medical College expanded to Sawai Man Singh Medical College is one of the renowned medical education institutes in Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. This famous educational institution was constructed in 1947. It is being run by the Government of Rajasthan. At that time, it was one of the top listed medical colleges in all of India, mostly ranked 15th. Now in 2020 it is ranked No. 17 and is in the top list of medical colleges according to the NIRF rankings. The vision of the college is to create professional-level doctors to meet the challenges of diverse health needs of the society at a global stage, by providing professional degrees from the first stage of a doctor’s career and promising to build professional infrastructure through advanced degrees and open education. The excellence of this institution is a result of the hard work put in by every faculty member, and senior. The motto is to teach with love and compassion.

Dr. Sudhir Bhandari is the one who holds the head position of this college, currently serving as the Principal and Controller. This being a government college the regular control is no different from any of the other government-run institutions. This college offers an MBBS degree whose duration is four and a half years. SMS Medical College also offers a one-year internship programme. The minimum qualification required to apply for admission into this college is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and a qualifying score in NEET exam for the respective year. At present, the college has 250 seats for medical studies. The various other degrees offered are MD, PG Diploma, MD General Medicine, and some diploma and degrees in Paramedical sciences. There are 18 faculty members, 5 PG students, 4 M.Sc. students, and 10 non-teaching staff. The college also encourages sports and extra-curricular activities. The main goal of the college is to produce well-known and skilled medical personnel across India.

SMS Medical College has now expanded its Research and Development by about eighty percent over the past few years. More work is being done towards research, and the quality of medical care has been enhanced.
