Loyola Institute of Business Administration

Loyola Institute of Business Administration was established in 1979 inside the premises of Loyola College, in order to form competent and committed leaders who are ethical, principle oriented and socially responsible upholding a global perspective and spirit of entrepreneurship. Known for their outstanding contribution to higher education, the Jesuits of Loyola College society run LIBA.

LIBA offers a 2 year Full-time PGDM course, which is approved by AICTE and recognized by AIU. They also offer other programs such as Part-time PGDM (AICTE approved), Ph.D. (affiliated to the University of Madras) and a one-year executive diploma programme. The Management Development Centre offers various customized programs as well (short-term and long-term) with a focus on skill development. LIBA ideally concentrates on the holistic formation of students in all aspects such as intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual. The Institution works with a zeal that’s undeterred, in order to offer the best education integrating classroom learning and experiential knowhows, to its students.

LIBA strives to promote learning among their students both in and out of their classrooms. Beyond the curriculum, the students have a vibrant social life which is characterized by cultural and sports activities, get-togethers and celebrations and even social-oriented events. Institute also fosters among its students a passion for excellence by encouraging them for participating in other business school festivals as well as national and international competitions.

The institute provides Ph.D. scholars with the supervision of high standards for theses that focus on relevant and innovative areas of research. They accompany the Ph.D. Scholars in their formation to become expert in their fields of research and promote an ecosystem of research publications in the institute. They have a sufficient number of completed as well as ongoing projects for various clients. The institute also promotes faculty development by promoting faculty publication as well.

Since its inception, the institute has maintained a reputation for achieving 100% placements for its students.  Top companies always got into LIBA for hiring the right candidate. Some of the major recruiters include, BMW, EY, Deloitte, RBI, Bank of America, HP, Britannia, Asian Paints, Royal Bank of Scotland, Oyo, Infosys, Wipro, Dell, CITI Bank, IPM, Walmart, JP Morgan, Amazon, Mahindra, ITC etc. are few among the entire big list.

Leena Rayer, an alumnus of LIBA is the operations Head at Amazon for Kindle Selection and Quality Experience Worldwide. Jerry Kingsley, Senior Director at Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated received his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Loyola Institute of Business Administration at Chennai in 2006 April. BlinsMony, Senior Operations Manager at TATA Consultancy Services is an alumnus of the comprehensive post-graduate management course from the batch of 2008.

The likes of Ramaswamy Venkatraman- the former President of India, Vishwanathan Anand- the Chess Champion and Grand Master, Joseph Vijay- the actor and C. Rangarajan- the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India have studied from Loyola College whose society’s Jesuits manage LIBA.
