Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai is now among India’s leading Business Schools, established by Padmashree, Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Professor Emeritus at Kellogg School of Management, in the year of 2004. Academic Performance

The institution offers its academics across 7 streams such as PGPM, PGDM, PGXPM, PDPM FLES, MBA in Business Analytics, Global PGP for Family Enterprises Management, Executive Education. Their course has international collaboration with various other universities, for example, Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

The Great Lakes students stay ahead of the curve by getting into outstanding teaching and innovative leadership development programs that will ensure that they are business ready and are prepared to deliver quantifiable results from the very beginning of their career. The institute offers employers a uniquely qualified talent pool. Research & Development

The institute has a great tradition in research right from its inception phase. More than 80% of the faculty holds a doctoral degree from leading institutions across the world (e.g. Case Western University, University of Maryland, Indiana University) and India (e.g. XLRI). The institute is ranked 2nd in Research Productivity amongst B-Schools in India by an independent survey conducted by professors from IIM-Bengaluru and XIM-Bhubaneswar. They have published a pool of papers & journals that includes a number of international publications, case studies & books, and a number of national as well as international conference proceedings.

Notable Alumni

Sillo Kuruvilla George, the founder and CEO of Startup Village, co-founder of MobME and founder of the Rethink Foundation studied in the PGPM batch of 2009. Mandar Malshe, having passed his PGPM in 2010 went on to work as a managing consultant across countries with Wipro Digital. Upili Ramabardan, the Director of Sys Two Analytics and Research is an alumnus of the institution from the PGPM batch of 2005. Krishnan C.A., ET Young Leader of the Year-2012, TAS finalist from 2011, is a gold medalist from Great Lakes having studied in the PGPM class of 2007. Sitashwa Srivastava, from the PGPM batch of 2007 co-founded Jade Magnet, got recognition from NASSCOMM and TiE, received Manthan awards and was recognized as the Most Innovative Startup at Global Technology Symposium, California.
