Overview

The National Testing Agency administers the JEE Main exam, a computer-based online test, to applicants seeking to enroll in undergraduate engineering programs at India's top engineering schools each year. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are the two papers that make up JEE Main 2027. Candidates seeking admission to B.E./B.Tech undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and institutions/universities supported/recognized by participating State Governments will take Paper 1, while candidates seeking admission to B.Arch and B.Planning programs will take Paper 2.

Engineering candidates seeking admission to India's top IITs must take the JEE Main 2027 test to be eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2027 exam. The two-session JEE Main 2027 exam is anticipated. Dates for the JEE Main 2027 exams have not yet been announced in an official manner. However, applicants can anticipate that JEE Main 2027 Session 1 and Session 2 will each take place in January and April, respectively.

The registration period for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is anticipated to open in December 2026, while that for Session 2 is anticipated to open in March 2027. Eligibility

Aspirants can find detailed information on the JEE Main 2027 eligibility requirements here. Candidates who intend to take the JEE Main 2027 exam should carefully review the eligibility requirements before applying to make sure they meet all of them.
The age requirement for candidates to sit for the JEE Main 2027 exams has not been disclosed by the authorities. Any candidate, regardless of age, who passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2026 or who is appearing in 2027 may take the JEE (Main) - 2027 examination.
Candidates must successfully complete the 10+2 examinations administered by any reputable Central or State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi or the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations in New Delhi, among others.
Candidates must be able to pass the senior secondary examination administered by the National Institute of Open Schooling in their top five subjects, which must include mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Students cannot sit for the JEE Main 2027 exams if they studied less than 5 subjects for their qualifying exam.
Candidates must pass the senior secondary examination in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, and any other subject to be eligible for B.E./B.Tech
Candidates for the B.Arch and B.Planning programs must pass the senior secondary school examination in subjects like Language, Physics, Mathematics (required), Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subjects, and any other subject.
Candidates who have passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam outside of India or who have failed the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam from any recognized Central or State Board of India should present a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating that the exam they passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

JEE Main 2027: Application Process

All applicants need to follow the given procedure to register themselves for the JEE Main 2027 Exam.

Go to the Official website online.
Now select "JEE Main (Session 1/2): Registration" from the Candidate Activity section.
You will be taken to a new page where you can fill out the application form's instructions completely.
Go over the guidelines and have the necessary paperwork on hand.
Start by registering for the online application form and writing down the application number that the system generates.
Please provide the information requested during registration.
Log in using your generated application number and password, then begin filling out the application form with your personal information, your choice of paper, your exam cities, your educational background, etc.
Once the applicant's photo, signature, and category certificate have been scanned, upload them in the format and size specified.
Utilizing the payment gateways that were provided to you, pay the application fee as required.
Once all the steps have been completed, double-check the information before submitting the form. The form should be printed out for future use.

JEE Main 2027: Required Documents

The documents required to complete the application form are as follows:

You must have your most recent passport-sized scanned photo on hand.
Your Class 10 and 12 transcripts must be scanned.
Obtain a signature scan immediately.
Additionally, you require a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card and its number.
Category certificate – SC/ST/OBC-NCL, if applicable

Exam pattern

The candidates applying for the JEE Main Exam need to consider the below mentioned previous year's exam pattern in order to practice and perform better.

There are two papers in the JEE Main exam: Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan).
Exam mode: The test is administered online or using a computer. On the other hand, Paper 2's (B.Arch) drawing test will be conducted offline.
There are two shifts for Paper 1 of the exam: Shift 1 (9 am to 12 noon) and Shift 2 (3 pm to 6 pm). For Paper 2, exam duration is 3.5 hours.
Questions: The first paper includes questions of an objective nature. Paper 2 includes both objective and subjective question types.
Total number of questions: Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) will have 90 total questions; Paper 2A (B.Arch) will have 82 total questions; and Paper 2B (B.Plan) will have 105 total questions.
Exams will be given in 13 different languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu.
Marking System: For each accurate response, you will receive +4 points. For each incorrect response, one mark will be subtracted. Unanswered questions do not receive a mark.

Syllabus

The majority of the JEE Main 2027 Paper syllabus's topics come from the 11th and 12th grade curriculam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) offers a selection in one section of each subject of paper 1 and paper 2A/B (part 1) in order to accommodate the decision of various Boards in the nation regarding the reduction of the syllabus. Where applicable, the total number of questions attempted is still 25 each for physics, chemistry, and math.

For B.E./B.Tech (paper-1)

For B.Arch (Paper 2A)

Mathematics	Questions from the subject of mathematics will be included in the topics of Part 1 of Paper 2A. The subjects covered in Mathematics Paper 1 are the same as those previously mentioned.
Aptitude Test	This section will involve an aptitude test. The topics that will be covered in the questions include: understanding of people, places, textures, and objects related to architecture and building; visualizing 3D objects from 2D drawings; understanding of buildings and materials; and analytical reasoning.
Drawing Test	This section covers the drawing portion of the exam, which asks candidates to sketch events and scenes from memory from the urban environment (festivals, public spaces, street scenes, markets, monuments, recreational spaces, etc.). Landscaping in the country (riverfronts, jungle, gardens, trees, etc.). Students are advised to bring pencils, a geometry box, crayons, pencils, and other drawing materials for this activity because it is done on a drawing sheet.

For B.Planning (Paper 2B)

Aptitude Test	In this section, there will be an aptitude test. Planning	There will be questions in this section covering a variety of planning-related topics. The section will include questions on a variety of subjects, including general awareness, social sciences, and thinking skills.

JEE Main 2027: Admit Card

The JEE Main 2027 admit card will be made available by NTA online at the official website. After the official announcement, a link to download the JEE Main 2027 admit card will be made available online. Candidates must enter their JEE Main login information in order to download the admit card. To download the JEE Main admit card 2027, you will need your application number and birthdate. Candidates must bring a printed copy of their JEE Main admit card to the testing location. The instructions listed on the admit card should be read, though.

JEE Main 2027: Result

The JEE Main 2027 result will be made available online by NTA. The outcome can be found on the jeemain.nta.nic.in website. Candidates must enter their JEE Main login information in order to view their JEE Main 2027 results. To view the JEE Main 2027 result, applicants must enter their application number and birthdate. The form scorecard will have the outcome available. Candidates can view their JEE Main scorecard to learn more about their performance, including their category- and All-India Rank (AIR), marks received, and more. JEE Main 2027: Counseling

The board may reveal a detailed schedule for JEE Main 2027 counseling following the release of the results. State level counseling and the All India Rank will have separate announcement dates.

The organization of counseling techniques will begin in the third week of June 2027.
Counseling sessions for JEE Main 2027 will be held online.
In several rounds, JoSAA and CSAB will organize centralized counseling.
Candidates must register if they wish to attend counseling.
The authority will publish the counseling schedule online for all students who need to apply for admission to the course of their choice.

Student registration is required before they can participate in the counseling method. The counseling techniques will be coordinated by JoSAA. In a number of participating institutions, such as NIT, IIT, CFTI, etc., candidates will be assigned seats. Only a select group of students will be permitted to participate in the admission process by registering and paying the counseling fee. Only the chosen students whose names appear on the merit list may receive counseling. Following the release of the results, the merit list, which includes the names of the chosen students who scored well on the exam, will be made available online.
