Overview
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research is a medical university, which is established in Chennai. It is regarded as SRIHER. In 1985, Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health trust laid the foundation of the Institute. The medical university is authorized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and presently the institute is a worthy member of AIU i.e the Association of Indian Universities.
The university houses a renowned medical center, known as Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. In 2018, the medical center was accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). With a faculty of 850, the institute is serving medical education to the aspirants. The campus is spread over a large area of almost 150 acres, which is designed especially for the convenience of the students. The institute is well-equipped with amenities all around like a medical center, modern laboratories, medical libraries, air-conditioned classrooms. ATMs and much more.

Admission Process
The medical university offers various courses like UG, PG and Ph.D programs. Some of the popular courses are BASLP, B.Sc, Pharm.D, MBA, BOT, M.Sc, MPT, and M.Optom. UG & PG Courses
- Admission to all the undergraduate and postgraduate courses are based on merit-basis.
- Those candidates who are done with their 12th class from a recognized board, are eligible to apply for SRIHER undergraduate programs.
- Those candidates who wanted to apply for the PG program must have completed their graduation from a recognized university.
Ph.D. Course
- The candidates seeking SRIHER Ph.D. programs for full-time or part-time will have to undergo an entrance exam that is conducted by the university. Or you can give entrance via UGC NET/ ICMR JRF/ GATE/ ICAR JRF/ AYUSH exams.
- Those aspirants who have done with their master’s degree from a well-known university can go for a Ph.D. program.
- The final selection of the candidate is dependent on the entrance exam followed by a personal interview.

Placements
SRIHER, deemed to be a university, is known for its best placement cell, which is responsible for conducting placement drives for SRIHER students. The placement cell conducts placement activities for all the course students. The campus placement kick-off at the pre-final semester.
