Overview

Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research began its journey in 1997. The college is named after the fourth Sikh Guru, who invented the holy city of Amritsar, Sri Guru Ram Das Ji. Initially, the institute was affiliated with the well-known Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. With the passage of time, the institute got affiliated to Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health & Sciences, Sri Amritsar. With the sprawling green campus, the institute is having modern infrastructure for the students. The institute offers MBBS, MD/MS courses in various clinical and para-clinical subjects. 

Apart from offering world-class UG and PG training facilities, the institute is the epicenter of three charitable hospitals that are developed for the unprivileged and needy ones. SGRD Charitable Hospital Cancer Institute, a rural health center, and urban center. The motive of the institute is to offer health care services to the needy populations, who are deprived of modern medical facilities. The institute works on achieving professional academic standards. The aim of the institute is to produce assets for the nation, who with investigative skills and empathetic attitude can promote the well-being of patients.
