Overview

Smt B.K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre works under Sumandeep Vidyapeeth. The college is located in the rural area of Gujarat. On 30th September 2003, the Institute was granted permission by MCI (Medical Council of India) and the Government of India. In 2008, the institute's MBBS degree was recognized by MCI. From 2008 to 2009, MCI and the Government of India have organized inspections in the institute and finally gave permission to start PG courses in 69 PG degrees in 20 subjects. 25 post-graduate Diploma seats were allotted to the students. From 2019, the college has a total of 136 seats for PG students and 24-degree seats. The institute has started a D.M/ M.Ch course in 5 Disciplines. In 2002, the institute established its own hospital, Dhiraj hospital with 1065 bedded tertiary care and state of art facilities. The motive behind this institute is to redefine medical education for rural students who want to be a Doctor.
