Overview

On 29th September 2003, the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University was established by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources. Pravara Medical Trust, the parent organization was founded in Ahmednagar District in 1972. The trust was founded by Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil and Dr.  Vitthalro Vikhe Patil.

In 1976, the institute started with medical care for the rural and needy populations, with a total of 100 beds. After some time the hospital grew up with 1275 beds for multi-disciplinary and super-specialty. And, at present, the hospital treats 1million patients per year. By following the rules of the Indian System of Medicine, the hospital provides the best health treatment to the tribal and rural population. The hospital receives many awards from renowned people for being the best hospital for senior citizens.

The institute offers UG, PG and Diploma level programs.
