National Institute of Technology, Manipur is a well-known technical institute located in the north eastern parts of India. It caters to the specific needs of Imparting professional and technical education to the student community hailing from the backward areas of the state. It is presently functioning in its Permanent Campus at Langol, Imphal, with two more Engineering Branches namely - Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The Institute has acquired 341.5 acres of land in lush green areas of Langol, Imphal.

The Institute is administered by the Director of the Institute under the direct supervision of Board of Governors(BOG) headed by The Chairman of the Board of Governors as the institute is registered under Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989.

The Institute aims to attract students from the neighbouring South-East Asian countries in view of the Look-East Policy of the Government of India.
