Fees

The total academic fee payable by management students of MIT WPU includes tuition fees, registration costs, alumni fees, examination costs, and development fees. BBA students of all specializations must pay a total academic fee of INR 2.85 Lakh. MBA students of all specializations must pay a total academic fee of INR 4.55 Lakh.

The hostel and mess fees must be paid in two installments every year. Students who stay in single occupancy rooms pay hostel fees of INR 2.5 LPA. Double occupancy rooms have an annual hostel fee of INR 2.15 LPA, and triple occupancy 1.85 LPA. Students must also budget for the cost of academic materials, textbooks, and shopping for personal items. Candidates who choose to stay at home and commute to the MIT WPU campus must additionally budget for transportation costs.

Admissions

The eligibility criteria for admission to WPU School of Business, are as follows:

  • MBA:
    • The candidate must be in the final year of (or have already passed) an undergraduate degree of minimum three years’ duration from an Institution of Higher Education recognized by the University Grants Commission.
    • The aggregate over all the years of the Bachelor’s degree must exceed 60%. This is relaxed to 55% for reserved category candidates as defined by the Maharashtra State Government.
    • The applicant must have a valid non-zero score issued by any National Level MBA Entrance Test: CAT, XAT, NMAT, GMAT, PERA, CMAT, Maharashtra CET, or MAT.
  • BBA:
    • The applicant must have completed 10+2 studies in any stream, with Standard X and XII certificates awarded by any recognized Board of Secondary Education in India or abroad.
    • The minimum marks at the Standard XII level is 50% for General Category candidates, and 45% for reserved category candidates.
    • Candidates may apply before their Board Examination results are declared. However, their final joining will be subject to submitting the final pass certificate.
    • Students who have completed a three year diploma after Standard X may also apply, provided that their diploma academic aggregate exceeds 60%.

With more than four decades of history, alumni of the University are currently in senior management positions across the world. The annual Alumni Retreat of MIT WPU, titled Nostalgia, takes place over a three day weekend in December, and is an opportunity for alumni of all years to come together and interact with the current students, while setting up professional networking opportunities. All BBA and MBA students are automatically enrolled in the Alumni Association after paying the registration fees of INR 2,000 in their first semester. Scholarships

As in other top MBA colleges in India, there are multiple financial aid options available to students of WPU School of Business. There are four main scholarships offered by the University:

1. Dr. Vishwanath Karad Scholarship: This is intended for exceptional academic performers, and is awarded based on the performance in the qualifying examination. No more than 5% of the incoming batch can be offered this scholarship, and it entails a 100% tuition fee waiver.

2. MIT WPU Merit Scholarship I: This is also based on academic performance in the qualifying examination, but with more relaxed criteria. It awards a 50% tuition fee waiver, and up to 10% of the incoming class may be given this scholarship.

3. MIT WPU Merit Scholarship II: Similar to Merit Scholarship I, this scheme awards a 25% tuition fee waiver, up to a maximum limit of 12% of the intake in any particular academic year.

4. Scholarships for Elite Sportspeople: Students who have achieved medals or participated in West Zone, National, or International sports competitions are eligible for scholarships. The amount varies from a 100% tuition fee waiver (for gold medal winners in international sports meets) to 20% scholarships (for Bronze medal winners in West Zone competitions).

There are three dimensions of criteria for continued award of these scholarships after the first year. The student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 8 with no backlogs. He/she must have a minimum attendance of 80% throughout the degree even after allowing for illnesses and sports commitments. Finally, the student must have a spotless disciplinary record according to the Code of Conduct of MIT WPU.
