Guwahati Medical College And Hospital were set up in 1960 along with its twin college, Silchar Medical College. At the start of the college, only 60 students were there in the first batch. The medical college offers almost 6-degree courses and 2 diploma courses plus a one-year internship. At the PG level, the college offers a 3-year degree course and a 2-year diploma course.
