Fees

The total fee payable by students of DY Patil Business School, Pune, is INR 7.95 Lakh for the entire duration, or INR 9.85 Lakh (for students who choose to stay in the hostel). The breakup of this amount is as follows:

  • Tuition fee: INR 1.9 Lakh per semester.
  • Development fee: INR 7,500 per year.

Admissions

The eligibility criteria for admission to Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, Pune, are as follows:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree from any recognized institution of higher education in India or abroad. The UG program must be at least three years in duration, and it must be completed by 30 June of the year in which the application to DY Patil B-School takes place. There is no minimum cut-off percentage required.
  • Any one of the major Indian MBA aptitude tests: CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, or ATMA.
  • Proof of professional experience: a certificate of work experience from all the companies where the applicant has worked. This is not compulsory.
  • A domicile certificate issued by the Government (if applicable).
  • Proof of nationality or citizenship (for international students).
  • Detailed academic certificates and transcripts: Standard X and XII board examinations, and UG courses.

There are 11 steps in the application and admission process to DY Patil Business School:

  1. Release of Admission Notification: This usually happens 3-6 months before the final admission date.
  2. Filling up the application form: This can be done either online or offline, The following documents must be submitted with the form - entrance exam score sheet, academic certificates and transcripts from Standard 10, 12, and UG studies, postgraduate study certificate (if applicable), extracurricular certificates, and a national ID card.
  3. Shortlisting: After the final submissions are made, the School releases a list of shortlisted candidates and the dates for the further rounds of selection.
  4. Candidate Assessment Process: This is done on the basis of entrance test performance, academic performance, and performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.
  5. Final shortlist: After the assessment process, the final score sheet is prepared.
  6. Merit List and Wait List: Two main lists are prepared; the top 360 finish in the Merit List, with a Wait List in case some applicants choose other admit offers.
  7. Selection Letters: During this phase, some candidates accept their offers and some choose to sit out.
  8. Second Merit List: All the candidates who drop out of the process are replaced by the top candidates from the Wait List.
  9. Admission Confirmation: The candidates who pay the initial Registration Fee (INR 50,000) receive a provisional admission confirmation subject to paying the next installment within one month.
  10. Admission Cancellation Window: Applicants can choose to cancel their registration within a month of the deposit date.
  11. Reporting to the Campus: The Induction program takes place for all candidates who pay the second Fee Installment, just before classes commence.

Cut-Offs

There is no cut-off at any phase of the admission process to either MBA program at DY Patil Business School. Unusually, there is no minimum UG percentage aggregate required, and there are no cut-off scores or ranks in the qualifying entrance exam either (CAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT, or MAT). However, during the preparation of the final merit lists (first and second) and wait list, cut-offs are determined after the lists are prepared, in terms of the aggregate score of the final student who receives an admit offer. Therefore, the cut-off is known at the end of the process, and is not predetermined.
