University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya

The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) assumes great significance, given the fact that it is the first State Private University on Science and Technology in entire Northeast India. This University is a project of Education Research & Development Foundation (ERDF), the largest educational network in the North-Eastern region of India. The University is established through the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act, 2008 of the Government of Meghalaya.

Among different courses, the university offers MBA, B.Ed. & B. Pharm courses respectively. The University is empowered by the University Grants Commission, to award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. USTM has also received the necessary approval from AICTE, New Delhi.

University is committed to promoting research essential for teaching, learning, extension and outreach programme. It encourages original, basic, fundamental and applied research inquiry to create innovation, novelty, generation of ideas and new stock of knowledge. Research output promotes teaching and percolating the benefits of research findings among students and faculty members.
