Overview

The Neotia University (TNU) is situated in the city of Sarisa, West Bengal, and was established in the year 2015 as a private university by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university currently has a total of 3200+ students from all around the world. The university offers a total of 48 courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D in various specializations like engineering, science, arts, humanities, management, legal studies, hospitality, public health, and many more. 

The university has well experienced faculty members with a great set of knowledge in their recognized subject which confirms the academic success of any student. The university has collaborations with some national and international industries who equipped the students with practical knowledge through live training programs and seminars, preparing students to face the real life situation and ready to work in any industrial and corporate environment.

The university offers a campus of 60 acres which has the required facilities like class rooms, hostels, a library, laboratories, transportation, health, sports grounds, and many more. The students from here get continuous opportunities to get campus placements. The university also offers scholarships to 1931+ students out of 3200+ students on the basis of their excellent academic record and to students from the weaker financial section. The university runs several scholarship schemes like Gramotthan Scholarship, Sarvodaya Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Mere Apne Scholarship, Cultural Scholarship, Sahodarya Scholarship, Special Hill Students Scholarship, Industry Sponsorship, and Tejasvi Scholarship. The Neotia University is ranked 156th in all India and the 7th state university of West Bengal by the IIRF University Rankings 2023 among the top universities in India.

Course Highlights

The university offers many courses under different schools at the university. Some of them are mentioned below.

• The School of Science and Technology at the University offers courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc, and M.Sc in various specializations such as computer science engineering, biotechnology, robotics and automation, applied physics, and mathematics.
• The School of Maritime Studies offers courses like B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc Nautical Science.
• The School of Humanities, Management & Social Sciences offers courses like BBA, BCA, and B.Com in various specializations such as retail management, digital marketing, logistics & supply chain management, mass communication, and more.
• The School of Legal Studies offers courses like Integrated BBA with LLB (Hons.) and Integrated B.A. with LLB (Hons.).
• The School of Health Science offers courses like BPT, BMLT, BHM, MHM, B.Sc, and M.Sc in various specializations such as Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology, Applied Physiology, Physiotherapy, and many more.

Admission Process

The candidates need to follow the given procedure to get admission to the university.

• The candidates need to visit the official website of TNU and click on register online.
• The students need to fill in the necessary details to get registered by verifying their mobile number and email ID.
• After registering themselves with the university, the candidates are required to fill in the application form by choosing their desired course.
• If the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria, they can pay the provisional admission fee of 20,000 or 46,000 to get provisional admission to the university.
• The students need to upload the required documents like the marksheets of previous academic records and any national or international certificates in sports or cultural activities if they have them, along with a government ID photograph.
• The students are given a confirmation email regarding their final admission. They need to visit the university for the academic process.

Results and Cut off

The university offers admissions to students on the basis of their previous academic record. For an undergraduate program, one must pass a 10+2 or equivalent level of examination from a valid board of education with at least 60% overall. The students also need to appear in an online or offline aptitude test and must gain 30% marks. A valid score card in WBJEE or JEE mains is also appreciated, and the students gain scholarships according to their ranks. For a masters, the students need to have a graduation degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks and a personal interview with the vice chancellor and other committee members.

Placement

The university offers campus placement drives for students in their final year. The university focuses on getting students placed during their academic session. The university hosts several national and international conferences, workshops, seminars, and webinars for the students to keep themselves up to date with the latest information and industrial situations and how they can make their way through them. The all-round development of students and the collaborations of universities with some industries make it easy for students to get placed.

Alumni Network

The alumni of the university are working all over the world in national and multinational companies. TNU is relatively new in its present configuration but has its antecedents in the 16-year-old institution called Neotia Institute of Technology, Management, and Science (NITMAS), from which the university has more than 3000 alumni working successfully in their careers. 

Campus Facilities

The university's campus is located in Sarisa, West Bengal, and has spread over a huge area of 60 acres, which is filled with a lot of greenery and trees, creating an environment that is suitable for all academic activities. The university has all the facilities necessary to run an academic institution smoothly. 

The campus has a residential block which consists of hostels for boys and girls with a mess facility that provides tasty and nutritious food on a daily basis. The residential block also has a director’s residence and staff quarters. All of them live together and provide the students with regular guidance and a healthy environment.

The university has a multiple number of sports grounds which organize sports tournaments for different sports like cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, and many more. The students also have access to the gym at the university that helps students with their physical fitness.

The university also has a number of cafeterias which offer snacks to the students and staff. The library at the university is equipped with a number of academic books along with other general-interest books. The university also has laboratories for each subject, which are equipped with modern instruments.

The university also offers a multipurpose hall and a seminar hall that host a number of events, seminars, and workshops. Regular medical check-up camps are also organized at the university.
