The Assam Kaziranga University is situated in Jorhat, Assam, and was established as a private university in 2012 by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university offers more than 50 courses in vocational, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs at different schools at the university, like engineering & technology, business, basic sciences, computer sciences, social sciences, and health sciences.
The university gives special emphasis on the practical skills development of the students. They have collaborated with more than 45 national and international organizations in both academic and industrial fields to exchange students, knowledge, and faculties with them. The university organizes guest lectures from top industrialists and several workshop programs to make their students learn about the working environment along with global exposure.
The university currently has over 3100 students and more than 140 faculty members who have expertise in their recognized field of education. They provide theoretical knowledge along with the practicality of the subjects that helps students with their academic as well as practical skills in subjects. Professional courses like MBAs and engineering offer various chances to get placed during their academic session in campus placement drives. The placement cell at the university organizes many campus placement drives and the highest package received by anyone from the current session was 12 lakhs per annum.

Students with good academic records and cutoff marks in entrance examinations organized by the university are preferred for admission. For admission to B.Tech, the university offers admission on a valid score card in JEE mains and Assam state entrance examinations along with their own entrance exam. For admission to an MBA, several national entrance examinations like CAT, XAT, and MAT are taken along with the university entrance test. For an undergraduate course, the students need to have passed the 10+2 examination with at least 45% from a recognised board of education in India. For a master’s degree, students are required to have an undergraduate degree in similar specializations with at least 50% marks. For Ph.D, the university follows the norms given by the UGC.
The placements at the university can be considered good as the students from professional courses like MBAs and B.Tech are provided with a number of campus placement drives. The students from both disciplines got the highest placement of 12 lakhs per annum and the average placement offer for MBA is 5.14 lakhs per annum and for B.Tech it is 4.26 lakhs per annum. The placement cell at the university calls over 70 companies in an academic session. The major recruiters are TCS, NMS, Mphasis, HealthPlix, JK Tyre, Karvy, Wipro, Super Auto Forge, and many more.

The campus of the university is located in Jorhat, Assam. The campus is equipped with all the facilities like hostels, libraries, laboratories, auditorium, transportation, medical, sports grounds, gym, and many more.
The hostel at the university offers different kinds of rooms, like 4 seaters, 3 seaters, 2 seaters, and air conditioned rooms. There are separate blocks for boys and girls, and there are separate gyms to do intense workouts for physical fitness.
The central library of the university has a lot of academic books along with journals, magazines, and other necessary books to complete the academic sessions of the students.
